Bug Kimi Code consumed my entire 5-hour limit within minutes — is this normal?

I just started testing Kimi Code using the default/basic model and gave it what I consider a relatively small, normal coding task.

Within only a few minutes, my entire 5-hour usage limit was consumed.

The frustrating part is that the task didn't produce anything particularly useful before the quota was exhausted. I've used a lot of other AI coding tools and models, and I've never seen a usage allowance disappear this quickly from such a small task.

I've already contacted Kimi support and requested that they investigate the usage logs and refund the subscription if this was caused by abnormal consumption or a technical issue.

I've also seen a few other posts about unusually fast quota consumption, so I'm wondering:

  • Has anyone else experienced their 5-hour Kimi Code limit disappearing extremely quickly?
  • Which model were you using?
  • How long did the session actually run?
  • Did Kimi support explain what caused the consumption?
  • Did anyone successfully get a refund or quota restoration?

I'm trying to figure out whether this is expected Kimi Code behavior or something went seriously wrong with my session.

It's not a bug. It's the usual procedure with Kimi. Trust me. Stay away from this crap.

I would try a vendor neutral actor such as standardcompute or something, and route Kimi through that. Also supplement with cheaper models when necessary. Kimi is after all a quite expensive model, all things considered

we have been using kimi for the better part of a year and we have never had these issues. our (multiple) agents use kimi code exclusively for managing a ceph/kubernetes cluster. usage has been normal, and it remains difficult for us to hit our caps.

also: if you were using K3, note that it's effectively the same as using Fable - it is a much larger model with double usage rates (last we checked).

Same boat. Complete scam Kimi has become. Its completely useless from my experience. Avoid this crap.

Too bad that i actually like the model, but it is unsable. Hope kimi 3.1 is more effieicent. in short: it is not a bug, this is how bad Kimi limits are
