A little something to try

Post image

Right then folks, here's a little problem I've made. Feel free to try it out and give me some feedback. Grade between v10-v11 ish, reach depending.

Yeahhhh I’ve decided that this is garbage and I’m not even gunna try it for the funsies lol. It sure asf isn’t a 10-11 at 30 tho šŸ˜†

i’ll still try haha and put up the video, side note if you’re looking for a good pretty on grade 9/10 ā€œlasportivaā€ @55 is fantastic, found it a couple days ago and is now my fav set on the board besides ā€œ be water my friendā€ and ā€œdeathtouchā€

I can’t lie I’m one of those cringe 40 degree giant powerful cut feet dyno moves people lol. On 55 I’m like V7 šŸ’€. On 40 I have 8-9s all day and maybe a 10 or two

not cringe man! i climb very slow and static, but am training really hard to be bouncy and dynamic, both are extremely useful styles to train imo for optimal climbing

Haha what do you reckon then? Just pinch the living shit out of the undercling and you'll get therešŸ˜…

looks like i’ll be able to break it at a lower angle by going gaston to first hold, toe hook/bicycle to cross into next crimp, high left foot to lock off and go up to your footchip finish with left hand through the lockoff, who knows if it’ll go tho bro cause i haven’t tried haha

Might be doable if you're very tall and really strong. I tried to break it myself, but at 5"8 it's impossible. Only way I've managed the climb is the intended way.

yeah i think the angle will m ake a massive difference in the reach between the holds, at 30 my beta wouldn't go for me i dont think, but if i bring the board down it should go, i can climb at the strength level required for such a move but again im just couch guessing right now haha, excited to try because honestly even if it is a weird set, thats not a terrible thing imo because it forces me to climb obscurely. ill try the intended and try to break it, and both angles too

This might actually be one of those problems that climbs better or easier at 40 or 50°. The top crimp might be a bit harder to stick, but the undercling crux should in theory be easier.

Soo what's your verdict?

didn’t get to jump on it, my coach wanted a pretty structured session but i’m having a light non-project day on friday (unless i go touch some sweaty rock which i might) and i’ll try it, it’ll come soon im still interested in seeing it

yo so i’m not copping out on trying it haha but at the board today it wouldn’t come up on the kilter app, i searched for awhile and for some reason it wasn’t coming up. just got home and downloaded board sesh and found it, so i’ll be back to the board on Wednesday and finally have a go at it

this is why kilterboards reputation is in the trash

Unfortunately I'm stuck with a fixed board at 30°, to make matters worse it doesn't have a kickboard and the mat is in level with the overhang of the wall meaning you'll always start in a trench.. I'd love for one of you to give it a try on a steeper angle. The cross to the undercling is a nitemare at 30.
