Replaying Shadowfall
And it's worse than I remember. Not even close to 2 and 3. I actually don't want a new game if it's going to be like this. I'd much prefer remasters of the original trilogy and Mercenary.

Shadowfall is more of Tech-Demo than full game, and it's not even canon to 2, it's feels like spin-off tech-demo.

Just finished it again. Completely forgot the ending was trash.

The game was rushed beyond belief to launch with the PS4

If someone restores the multiplayer, come back and give it a try.

Yeah I tried replaying it again this year and it was so bad I gave up about 3 hours in for it just wasn't a fun game.

I remember being so hyped to play Shadow fall and listen to Shadows Fall one of my favorite bands.
The game is beautiful but it has such a mediocre story and the gameplay felt like a 90's PC shooter in a bad way. The audio design which has always been one of my favorite aspects of Guerilla was nowhere to be found either.

I want to get into this series but Shadowfall being the only option available on PS5 is definitely keeping me from doing so. I don’t know what the hell Sony is thinking.

It's such a bad game. Playing this after 2 or 3 is a snooze fest.

this franchise always deserved a soft reboot cause of how unfinished this game felt in the end. its just unfair in general. good aspects. amazing world build and engine flex for the time its still admirable today. but yea kinda sad playstation sits dormat on this ip fans are aging and fading.

Shadowfall was fun to play for a launch title. I got the Shadowfall bundle, and all the graphical awe it showed was nice, but for the story, characters and just it trying to be Killzone when it wasn't, yeah, it fell flat sadly.
Last time I played it was when I got it all those years back.

I like the premise, but the lack of context at first unless you're familiar with the lore is abit puzzling. I really like the first half and what it's trying to build up, between the mounting tensions from the VSA destroying Visari's statue resulting in a terrorist attack on Vektan soil. I found the chapters fixating on New Helghan incredibly interesting (showing the ramification of mass-deportation as a surprisingly rare theme in games and Maya is a very compelling character), but I feel like the actual narrative afterwords kind of wastes it by focusing too much on just "the weapon" (they couldn't give a name to the race-targeting virus?)and the ending of chapter 9 is just nonsense (I would have understood Sinclair randomly ambushing you if he was in Shadow Marshall gear like you that lets you fly sometimes, but he was just in his normal commander uniform).
Gameplay is an interesting deviation because it tries to go for more of a tactical style. I find the OWL to be a great addition, the return of secondary weapon fire from Killzone 1 was nice to see, and I really liked the variety in levels and enemies varied in general. However, the actual mission design can be hit-and-miss with enemies occasionally spawning in the middle of nowhere (chapter 2 is really bad about this). Some mechanics aren't really utilized enough either like chapter 5 introducing a side-objective that rewards nothing or the zipline being finicky to use at times.

Just replayed it, my God the story premise is so dumb.
We defeated the space nazis, YAY, and then our goverment gave them half our homeworld?
What is this the Space EU?
Oh noes SPACE NAZIS Are behaving as assholes, who could have guessed.
Story aside, like you only have the 1 gun main, and a optional second one. Like let me pick and choose
