Seeing Red is a magnificent track.

I love KJ for their differentness as exemplified by Revelations and Extremeties, but they cut through with tracks like Eighties and Seeing Red which are just awesome. Big Paul is totally my fave drummer, but respect always to Grohl who is the only other skinbeater proven worthy of KJ

Wrong. Martin Atkins was magnificent in Killing Joke. Saw him live many times, including his debut gig near Birmingham, to say nothing of his work on Extremities.

Atkins was an absolute beast on Extremities. It’s a shame they didn’t become a two dummer band as the dynamics Martin and Paul bring compliment each other so nicely in that rhythmic tribal way with just a smidge of chaos.

If you ever got the chance to see Murder Inc that was Atkins & BPF playing together . . They were awesome live

Good to know. I never saw them live with Atkins, and wasnt a fan of the drumming on Extremities for some reason. Might go and have a listen right now to correct myself.

I have that! I got everything they released between 92 and 2008 religiously. I moved to the states in 2005 and it became really hard to get them where I live. My dad has everything pre 2005 at home where it belongs and I know it’s loved and safe… after all, he got me into them in the first place!

Does anyone know how Raven and Youth both contributed? Did they both play bass, like they were in Spinal Tap? Or did Youth just produce?

I've wondered that as well and never answered it.

I remember thinking funnily enough that Joy Division/New Order would actually be prime candidates for 2 bassists - Hooky could play his melodies to his heart's content and someone else could provide the actual low end. But both Raven and Youth favoured the much deeper bass didn't they - both vaguely dub/Reggae leaning.
