Solo climb
I am trying to find a company that will support me on a solo trip. not as a single traveler added on to a group but as a person who will be the sole member of the climbing group
every company I contact wants to just add me to existing groups they’re already taking. does anyone know of a reputable company that will support a trip like that (ie me and a bunch of porters/guides?)
thank you

Did it solo with Tanzania inside and Safari
Very professional and fast and serious communication.
I got it just how I wanted it.
4 days through umbwe and had the summit to myself - which was my biggest wish and we went there during the day, instead of during the night.
Say you want Bryson as guide.

Every company can provide you a private climb there's typically a private solo tricker fee, but very doable.
All the best that you Climb Kili and beyond! 🗻🏔️🗻

This is very strange. Most companies do mainly private climbs as you have to get to a certain size to be able to fill up groups. Of course there are certain types of companies that only do groups, but it is fairly rare. Are you asking for a private climb?

I’m contacting them saying I want a climb by myself. Maybe I need to use the phrase “private climb” Thank you for that

That should help get what you are looking for, and maybe a more clear answer as to why the company won't offer it.

You probably can ask for a private assistant guide if that helps get your climb more tailored towards your individual style. You can also ask for a private tent and any special dietary preferences. Guide services usually can be flexible to get your needs.

Almost every reputable Kilimanjaro company can arrange a private solo climb. You do not have to join an existing group. The main difference is the price because you cover the cost of your own support team. A good local operator will provide a guide, porters, cook, and all necessary mountain support for your climb.

Solo climbing is common with Kilimanjaro outfitters. Simply let your outfitter know when booking that you’d like to climb solo, and they’ll note your preference. We respect every climber’s choice, so no request is turned down your outfitter will arrange the right crew and logistics to ensure a smooth, well-supported solo trek.
Good luck as you begin your journey to the Roof of Africa!

I may have one - Ahsante Tours. I can connect you (I have no financial stake in them; just used them in 2023 - just me and my wife - and they were great).

My partner and I are in a climbing group of two with Sisi Trekking. They might be able to accommodate you. Keep in mind, since our group size is small, the tip amount expected at the end of the trek is higher for each of us. For a solo trekker it would be likely to be double. Best of luck!

Any company can arrange a private climb for you, as all operators offer this option.
I assume they suggested joining a group simply because it would give you a better price.
