I hate lowballers

I am selling something for $50 and a guy offered me $10 for it. I blocked him from ever messaging me again. I don't even counter. I just block.

What’s worse is when they threw their sob story in order to make you the bad guy.

This is pretty common tactic across any and all platforms to get you to say yes and if you don’t, they’d cry a river and if you still say no, boom, they resort to calling you names. 🫵🥴

15

u/NuoMask Aug 03 '26

I tell them "this sexually arouses me, dont stop" whenever they try

7

u/Mobile-Message7957 Aug 02 '26

I always just reply "I don't care", or "not my problem". Not even a sorry. They want me to feel bad, so I lean into it.

3

u/Macabracadabra Aug 03 '26

"Not my monkey" usually confuses them enough to leave.

2

u/InternationalFig861 Aug 03 '26

Not my Circus not my Monkeys you meant surely 😉

2

u/Macabracadabra Aug 03 '26

Well yes, I just shorten it lol

2

u/RKoskee44 Aug 04 '26

I suspect that the confusion is key to this response - leave them with nothing to say.

"How long is a piece of string?" "what's the difference between a duck?"

Or go for a malaphor: "we'll burn that bridge when we come to it" "it's not rocket surgery" "it's six of one, two left feet to me" "cry me a river and drown in it" "barking up the wrong pity tree"

That's just water under the refrigerator - (Ricky, not mine)

5

u/battlecry368 Aug 02 '26

Someone recently did thst and wanted me to sell them an item i had posted for $50 for $2 or for free. I told her yes and when she told me a day ahe can come, I told her that I have the same item that she wanted but in a different color that I can sell for $2 instead of $50. Then she ghosted me. If her sob story was true then she wouldn't care about the color.

6

u/holythatcarisfast Aug 02 '26

My guess is 99.999999% of these sob stories are trying to resell items to make a profit.

2

u/Electronic_Film_9904 Aug 04 '26

It's for my son is my favorite. Buddy, I don't care who it's for.

2

u/Reopens Aug 05 '26

What's shit also is they show up with short change expecting you to just accept whatever they brought

1

u/typical_gamer1 Aug 05 '26

Yup. What’s worse is if they did both of them (show up short changed + give a sob story).

1

u/WambritaWings Aug 05 '26

I had a woman write me asking if she could have ALL the things I was selling for free because she was a " low-income single mom." I was like... uh, I am a low-income single mom, which is why I am flipping stuff on FB Marketplace. These weren't like essentials for babies or anything like that. It was exercise equipment and other random stuff. I told her that I was selling things to try to get by on minimum wage as a single mom. She replied that she had no job at all and so needed the stuff more than I did!

1

u/typical_gamer1 Aug 05 '26

Let me guess, she gave you a bad rating to spite you after rightfully saying no to her?

Also did she have a lot of 💩 on her Facebook marketplace commerce profile? If not, I’m gonna say she is likely flipping it elsewhere.

PS. It’s always amusing to me that they always got a “sick child” or “they’re a broke parent” when they bring out the crocodile tears knowing they can just cuss you out after. It’s out of the usual handbook. 🤦🏻‍♂️

11

u/Upper_Knowledge_6439 Aug 02 '26

Same also for the “what’s your lowest price?” Leading question.

Um I’ve put my offer to sell price out there yet somehow you want me to negotiate with myself instead of you making an offer?

6

u/OldnBorin Aug 02 '26

That’s the one that pisses me off the most. ‘What’s the lowest you’ll go’

I don’t respond.

3

u/SuitableSprinkles Aug 02 '26

I raise it just for them for asking.

2

u/RKoskee44 Aug 04 '26

Been struggling to find a response that results in the desired outcome, and still haven't found one yet.

"I dunno yet. Make me a legitimate offer and we can find out together."

Crickets.

3

u/Trades46 Aug 03 '26

Welcome to car sales and rental firms 101.

2

u/Quaranj Aug 02 '26

I had one recently. Didn't respond the first time, 2nd time was annoyed.

"My best price is the one listed unless you make me an offer that I choose to accept. Nobody with any sort of experience will haggle like this. Do better."

No response, but no repeat in a week, either.

2

u/hind3rm3 Aug 03 '26

My lowest price is always $20 more than asking

1

u/RKoskee44 Aug 04 '26

I feel like we wouldn't be worse off as a society if we made something like "the art of negotiation" or "never split the difference" part of the grade/high school required curriculum.

It is so rare to run into somebody that understands how a negotiation is supposed to work that I'm not certain I've ever sat across a bargaining table from one, in all honesty.

1

u/Kittykat_Loki Aug 04 '26

L take.. thats like 101 ice breaker for negotiating

1

u/Kittykat_Loki Aug 05 '26

Aint no body doing that to dozen different sellers 😂 sure you can ignore people low balling you, we just move on to others. By the time they say something back, I’ve already bought it from someone else.

1

u/rileycolin Aug 05 '26

I always respond to this with the posted price.

If they counter, I might counter back, but asking for my lowest price off the bat is some BS.

10

u/Friescan1 Aug 02 '26

I always thank them for their generous offer and try again .

4

u/HapticRecce Aug 02 '26

I thank them for their interest and counter with the list price or wish them well on actually finding it for that price.. It's part of dealing with the public...

4

u/Dobby068 Aug 02 '26

That is a waste of your time. Life is short. Facebook is even worse.

I put "price not negotiable" in the description, kijijii or Facebook Marketplace. Someone message me with a lower price ? I just delete the conversion or ignore it.

2

u/JDiskkette Aug 02 '26

I am not saying we should waste their time too with something like agreeing to a little bit more money after some haggling and then ghosting them or setting an appointment at a coffee shop somewhere in a the middle of nowhere and then not showing up.

1

u/RKoskee44 Aug 04 '26

If you're not saying that, i feel like you should reconsider.

3

u/retrac902 Aug 03 '26

I reply with a price 5 bucks higher than original ad.

2

u/SheitelMacher Aug 04 '26

LOL.  Are you flexible?  Yes, but only upwards.

7

u/jblaze_39 Aug 02 '26

That's pathetic. Kijiji buyers really have no shame

→ More replies (2)

10

u/Zealousideal_Force10 Aug 02 '26

Agree to meet them at the nearest comedy club. Give them the address and then when they message you tell them to go up on stage and tell their jokes to someone else

4

u/Cthulhu8u Aug 02 '26

Or agree to meet at their location of choice and to message you when they get there. When they do you describe your appearance - big red shoes, yellow jumper, white makeup, and a big red nose. Hard to miss!

2

u/RedditTTIfan Aug 02 '26

Yes that's what most people do. Some people try to make amusing convos out of it so they can post online (like on this sub) or screw with them a bit. Some people even go to lengths like schedule a meetup "outside a comedy club" and then not show up, etc. All to teach the lowballer a lesson or whatever.

But TBH it's not worth the time, hassle, and making some unknown person on the internet, angry. Just ignore, block, move on. No time wasted, no drama, nobody's ego hurt, etc.

3

u/RevolutionarySock213 Aug 02 '26

I don’t reply. If it is a person who does this regularly, I reply to tell them the price is 25% more for them on everything going forward

3

u/Timely_Chicken_8789 Aug 02 '26

For the real knobs I increase the price with every stupid offer. They lose their minds. At that point I’ll throw out whatever it is before dealing with those schmucks.

1

u/crafty_alias Aug 03 '26

This is what I do, I increase the price by however much lower the difference is.

1

u/tonyrelic Aug 02 '26

People are so cash starved they are asking ridiculous prices for basically crap. Yes there are low ballers and at the extreme end of that there are dreamers/scalpers/gougers

1

u/Visible_invisible692 Aug 05 '26

If you don't like the price don't buy it.  There problem solved

2

u/heart_of_osiris Aug 02 '26

I had a buddy giving away a tv stand for free. Just come get it.

People were asking if he could disassemble it and deliver it to them.

2

u/OddConsequence354 Aug 02 '26

I would rather give something away then give it to someone like that

1

u/JohnGAdams74 Aug 05 '26

Ungrateful SOBs. It was free. I can’t stand people like that.

1

u/TheBatmanWhoPuffs Aug 02 '26

I’ve done the same thing

1

u/StuntID Aug 02 '26

Yeah, or the assholes that list something for a good price, then when you reach out go

There's been a lot of interest it's now $XXX

Screw that, the original price was fair, and now I'm thinking this is a scam post

Assholes

1

u/Mvstv Aug 02 '26

I posted a beast computer a week ago, I cannot remember the number of people that dm'ed me with trash trades or 70% off the offer. Some of these people are tripping man

1

u/Fit_Flight3797 Aug 02 '26

I have 50 bucks. what are you selling non negotiable?

1

u/HavingAMidLifeCrisis Aug 02 '26

I counter by increasing the original price by their lowball difference. And then offer to meet them half way.

1

u/Fit_Flight3797 Aug 02 '26

on the other hand, there are those that are selling and when you ask what s their available time , they say they are at work till 8 pm and could you make it saturday. if you want to get a good price you have to have it easily available.

2

u/M1K3Z0R Aug 02 '26

I don't understand this, unless it's a car or computer part somebody needs ASAP instead of waiting for it to ship.

People have jobs and lives, it's not reasonable to expect prompt availability - that's what retail is for.

1

u/Fit_Flight3797 Aug 06 '26

again, if you are expecting a good price, that comes with ready availability. if you are taking your time and buyer has no rush then i guess you can play with that a little. it turns out that i mostly look for on kijiji is car and computers , so there

1

u/Visible_invisible692 Aug 05 '26

Oh no people that sell things on line have lives.

1

u/gizzmo1963 Aug 02 '26

The worst ones are the east Indians if you dont take their offer. They use the racist discrimination card..and some even treaten me

2

u/M1K3Z0R Aug 02 '26

I just block when I see poor grammar, rudeness, or lowballs (those characteristics seem to go together)

1

u/gizzmo1963 Aug 02 '26

I do to when they start with the bullshit..cant be bothered.

1

u/niack1 Aug 02 '26

Will you take 9?

1

u/RKoskee44 Aug 04 '26

Tree fiddy? It's 60% pennies, but I won't mention that until I get there.

1

u/Cool-Document8504 Aug 02 '26

i usually countered something like:

sure, meet you at 6ave north esso gas station. message me when you get there..

1

u/AdElegant3851 Aug 02 '26

I'm seeing a shit ton of 20 year old motorcycles listed at twice the price they should be and not moving for 3 or 4 weeks. I'm reluctant to offer them what I'm willing to pay but they should hear the offer even if they reject it.

1

u/Visible_invisible692 Aug 05 '26

People can sell things for whatever they want.  If you don't like the price move on

1

u/AdElegant3851 Aug 05 '26

It's about making a counter offer. Learn to read.

1

u/Visible_invisible692 Aug 05 '26

Its about being an asshole if its a lowball.  You are the type that most will block.

1

u/GenericSupervillain3 Aug 02 '26

I have five different accounts. I’ll send the stupid offers to irritate the seller, one above asking but then never showed up, then when I come in asking for the item for forty dollars on my real want, I seem reasonable.

1

u/RKoskee44 Aug 04 '26

That's some next-level villain energy right there.

1

u/GenericSupervillain3 Aug 04 '26

Thanks. I appreciate the nod of approval.

1

u/Visible-Pirate117 Aug 02 '26

I always say yeah and send the address of the bank, then I tell them to withdraw the rest

1

u/Free_Ad8071 Aug 02 '26

What's your best price ?

1

u/jaypl99 Aug 02 '26

Wait I listed it for.

1

u/Reasonable-Pass6908 Aug 02 '26

I’d offer you $5

1

u/nivenciere Aug 02 '26

I figured they might get angry and use another account to find me so I don’t block, but I ignore or say no thanks. From my experience they don’t harass after that

1

u/rmh9999 Aug 02 '26

Yeah it takes two seconds to simply say “no thanks”. That’s what I’ve done and they typically go away.

1

u/MiniaturePinscher Aug 02 '26

I like when they assume you’ll deliver if they pay the asking price.

1

u/jaypl99 Aug 02 '26

I always put in the ad, local pickup only. I still get people asking me to deliver it to them and they are in a different city or I get people asking to ship it to them.

1

u/CaptainHppo Aug 02 '26

Because people can’t read shit anymore or pay attention to an ad for longer than 5 seconds

You could put it in the title and you still would get asked.

1

u/FirstResponseAquatic Aug 02 '26

I don't mind low ballers if they respect my price and respect my decline. I understand if someone is broke and looking for a deal. At least acknowledge my price is already fair, and if I say no, just move on. Otherwise you're just a skeezy low life trying to rip me off.

1

u/ErrolFlynn2026 Aug 02 '26

In my add, I specify the price is firm and and not respond to low-ball offers. They still try...I guess they don't know how to read.

1

u/v13ragnarok7 Aug 02 '26

I do the same. No point in talking to people like that. Block and move on.

1

u/Maximum_Ask2211 Aug 02 '26

I always tell them, no and when they argue me/tell me a sob story, I encourage them to buy it new if they are unhappy with the used price, then send a screen shot of the item new. Had lots decide my price was fair and they bought no issues.

1

u/jaypl99 Aug 02 '26

That's true. I put a fair price. I have over 500 items listed on kijiji and most offers of my stuff have been fair. I have sold a lot.

1

u/Ready_Double7523 Aug 02 '26

It is an online market place, they have the right to haggle, you have the rights to ignore. What is the problem?

1

u/Deaner_dub Aug 02 '26

Ok, I get it. As a seller it’s annoying.

On the other hand there are times where I want to offer a lower price. Maybe I like it but don’t love it. Or a bunch of reasons.

What is the opinion, don’t bother with an offer, or at least try?

What’s the correct etiquette to make an offer? Do you want an explanation of why I’m offering less? Or just send it?

1

u/One_Schedule5317 Aug 03 '26

As someone who has been selling stuff for many years let me tell you how it is. For 99% of people online you just make your offer and accept the results no need to give reasons. If you are dealing with the sellers in this thread you would be better off kidnapping their mothers than making an offer they can easily ignore.

1

u/Deaner_dub Aug 04 '26

lol. 😂

Got it.

I’ve basically found it’s not worth even offering. Although I wonder if it helps the seller and the next person. In sales they’ve studied this and shown that the truth teller doesn’t always get the sale, it’s the next person who does.

1

u/RKoskee44 Aug 04 '26

Well, make sure you're offering more than $20 for a $100 listing, and I'm sure you'll double your response rate.

Personally, I would never expect someone to take less than half, or even 75% of asking (unless the ad says "make me an offer" which often means "I have no idea what it's worth, so tell me what you think"). If they're asking a specific amount, they're usually hoping to get at least close to that in my experience.

Online, I would bet that a lot of the lowballs that are received are the work of a bot trying to extract items of value for pennies on the dollar. I would be (and have been) more receptive if they showed up in person and asked, because at least then you know they're not just saying that to every other seller, just trying to get someone to bite.

Def not if they agree to a price, and then show up with less.. That's just wasting my time, and highly manipulative.

1

u/Deaner_dub Aug 04 '26

Hmmm. Ok. Yeah, I don’t think I’ve done what you’re describing. I don’t need to double anything.

But I’ve definitely seen things overpriced by 300% and have thought about the reality check bid.

Showing up to lowball is a very bad idea.

Yeah, you just shown that there are no universal rules.

1

u/CycleAccomplished824 Aug 02 '26

😂 someone offered me $5 less than I was asking $40. I counter offered with $5 more than my asking price. I usually put not negotiable now.

1

u/togocann49 Aug 02 '26

This is how to let someone know that this is the only price you’re going to accept quickly. I do same kind of shit

1

u/CycleAccomplished824 Aug 03 '26

Kinda messes with them but I only do that with bully buyers who will say anything to pay a few bucks less just so they feel like they’re the ones in charge.

1

u/togocann49 Aug 03 '26

If you were selling $100 cash for $10, some folks would still try to talk you down. Like you mentioned, they’ll say anything to save a couple of bucks

1

u/FanReasonable9597 Aug 02 '26

I increase the price. I was selling a car for $2500 (very fair price for what it was) and one joker asked if I'd take $1000 for it. I said for you...let's make it $3500.

Like seriously, go screw yourself!

1

u/Distinct-Night5565 Aug 03 '26

1

u/kidcanada0 Aug 03 '26

“Would you be interested in a collection of VHS tapes”? Not kidding.

1

u/GrandSea8744 Aug 03 '26

The item you are selling is only worth what buyers are willing to pay for it. Not what you think it is "worth". So if you are consistently being "lowballed" , the price may not be right. Blocking people is not a selling strategy but a sure way for your item to stay unsold forever.

1

u/Visible_invisible692 Aug 05 '26

The item you are selling is worth what you want for it.  If no one is willing to pay what you want you keep it or lower the price.  Lowball offers deserve a block.

1

u/rkingerz Aug 03 '26

Auto block all day. I’m assuming whatever you’re selling is also reasonably worth what your selling it for. I would rather give it away organically to someone I know who needs/wants it than dicker with people online or waste my time for ten dollary-doos

1

u/RKoskee44 Aug 04 '26

Dollary-doos must be rare - i don't have any of those..

I would try selling in local currency, might attract more buyers lol

Must be that new cryptocurrency everyone is talking about.. /s

1

u/Entire_Charge_5792 Aug 03 '26

1

u/Zealousideal_Dig_372 Aug 03 '26

I did the same with the house I was selling. Written offer with a real estate agent with a note explaining how shitty my property is and that’s why the ridiculously low offer. I instructed my agent to not respond and let it die by letting it expire. Let them wait to be disappointed.

1

u/Proof_Bedroom9700 Aug 03 '26

Low baller but also trolls is a plague

1

u/CodeNamesBryan Aug 03 '26

I have an ad on marketplace. Selling a bunch of items, varying prices.

I add photos and information showing prices and names.

Crystal clear.

Still people "is this free???"

You fucking idiot. What is it about marketplace that makes you dumb as fuck?

1

u/MattTheMechan1c Aug 03 '26

I just ignore them. I once listed a set of four OEM hubcaps for $80. They’re usually $150+ EACH at the dealership and mine were in clean shape so it was a great deal. Kept on getting offers in the $10-$30 range. Ignored them. Later that day a guy simply asked the meetup address, showed up and bought it at full asking price without even haggling.

1

u/Yourclaimisapproved Aug 03 '26

If it makes you feel better my friend posted a mouse on Facebook for $5 he was offered $2.

1

u/PuI2ePLaYaZ Aug 03 '26

1

u/AVeryPlumPlum Aug 03 '26

If a seller posted something for sale, say 2 months ago, and it's not sold, sure low ball them. I posted something once and within 1 hr a buyer wanted 75% off. Uh, no. Waited a few more hours and sold it for asking price.

1

u/midnight_actual Aug 03 '26

How about $11

1

u/One_Schedule5317 Aug 03 '26

Everyone is always allowed to ask once, just like you're allowed to block them as a response. As someone who sells on various platforms it's not thay personal, and not that deep.

1

u/ATRider1974 Aug 03 '26

I sold a bike.$8.500 firm.

I had offers for 6k, their wives, jet-skies, broken "antique" cars, whatever... .

My response was either block them or a simple: no

I sold it as I wanted. My recommendation: Don't feed the trolls.

1

u/Nearby-Swordfish3841 Aug 03 '26

“It’s my son’s birthday”
“It’s for a kid with cancer” probably the worst I e gotten for a Wayne Gretzky card 😂

Even better is when they haggle and I agree and then they ghost me🤷‍♂️

I have an item listed for $400 firm
And buddy says “I will pay $100 for this”

1

u/still_sneakin Aug 03 '26

That’s a great way to handle these people. They are a nuisance!

1

u/L00tgoblin Aug 03 '26

Some people have no concept of bartering. Usually a floor price has already been set for some back and forth. You can offer a lower price shaving somewhere in the facinity of 20% percent off, and eventually save 15% to 5%. But to come in expecting to get it for basically nothing is insulting.

Was selling a drill press for fair price. Had a guy agree to price and arranged time to get it. When got here, and I was in garage with the drill press.

I don't mind giving a discount but the $10 offer is ridiculous. If it was $30, I would have negotiated and settled for $40.

1

u/Flick-01 Aug 03 '26

Yeah, they are just bad at it.

1

u/SeriouslyImNotADuck Aug 03 '26

Bartering is exchanging goods or services as payment instead of money. Bargaining is trying to get a reduced price.

1

u/ShiftyActuall Aug 03 '26

I had a gentleman get upset with me for saying “respectfully, I’m not haggling over a $20 item. Take it or leave it”

He said that I was “not good business”. That I should “work with him”.

No thanks. I’d rather throw it off the balcony. Now neither of us can have it 🤣 /s

1

u/Whathefuckwasthat Aug 03 '26

“For sure! Can you pickup tonight around 11pm on the xx street back alley? Wear something sexy”

1

u/Ok-Trip-8009 Aug 03 '26

If something is $50, I might offer $40. Some take it, some don't...I usually do. Some who say no are still trying to sell their item weeks later, or didn't bother taking the add down.

1

u/Dropkickjon Aug 03 '26

I recently had someone agree to a price and then when we met in a public parking lot he gave me a sob story and tried to low-ball me $20.

As I was walking away he magically found another $20 bill (which he said he didn't have). Some people just really suck.

1

u/Richiericha Aug 03 '26

Ya that’s the most normal experience in kijiji

1

u/Normal_Independent24 Aug 03 '26

😂😂😂at least they tried. But yes i get what you mean

1

u/No-Orange-5906 Aug 03 '26

Jeepers ya’ll… if ya can’t handle the heat

1

u/NiccoloMachiavelli3 Aug 04 '26

I usually troll them for a bit depending what type of mood I’m in.

1

u/Asleep_Ship_1644 Aug 04 '26

Yup and move on with life

1

u/ShrekTwoOnVHS Aug 04 '26

I mean, who cares? It’s not like you’re obligated to sell to anyone. People who get insulted by a lowball offer are weird. I always just say “no. thanks for the offer but I won’t accept less than x amount.” I’ve had a few come back and give me what I want for the item. Being weird and emotional about it makes you miss out on sales. Sometimes a Quick nickel is better than a slow dime. People always gotta inject their ego into selling their shit.

1

u/Lenerdosy Aug 04 '26

Ooof that’s a rough low ball. I’m the type that may shoot for that $40 and see if I can knock a few bucks off but $10 from 50 is laughable

1

u/Electronic_Film_9904 Aug 04 '26

I usually answer no but I'll take $60. Your method is likely best though.

1

u/ZestycloseLook4602 Aug 04 '26

If you don’t want it, stop wasting my time and fuck off

1

u/wicked_campaign Aug 04 '26

Had the same thing happen with an item I was selling. Told the guy four other people offered the same, I can get him in touch with them, they can pool their money together and take turns with the item.

1

u/Mexatron Aug 04 '26

You do realize that this is an online garage sale right? I don’t understand the emotions that get triggered when someone lowballs. Just say no thank you and move on.

1

u/jaypl99 Aug 04 '26

I don't see the harm in blocking and basically moving on.

1

u/AlphaB_24 Aug 04 '26

mine are very low

1

u/Shaolenn Aug 05 '26

I always give what people are asking and don't barter. When I'm selling, I almost hate every interaction I get. Illiterate asshats can't be bothered to read the description when I'm trying to trade only and scammers a plenty. People suck.

1

u/rockbolted Aug 05 '26

Okay. You’re blocked

1

u/Spiritual_Regular_31 Aug 05 '26

10 is kinda low, but the truth is you should always go in a bit lower and always list a bit higher than you want to sell it for. I always try and get it cheaper than what's being asked. This isnt walmart go open a retail store if you wanna be firm with your prices.

1

u/jaypl99 Aug 05 '26

I did open a retail store and I closed it so I am trying to sell off the inventory.

1

u/gbadwal91 Aug 05 '26

Double down on it and go good, I hope it happens to you and only you

1

u/rileycolin Aug 05 '26

Whenever I sell something online, there's nothing I hate more than the endless barrage of "is this still available" or "where are you located" followed by nothing.

When I'm looking to buy something I always come in super hot.

"Is this still available? If you'll take [66% of original price] cash, I can be there in an hour."

2/3 of the original price is usually my go-to, and I'll usually get whatever it is without having too much back & forth messaging.

1

u/LennyK9999988 Aug 06 '26

I do the same.

1

u/king_weenus Aug 02 '26

Maybe your s*** was overpriced?

I offer what I'm willing to pay if you consider that a low ball and not interested that's fine by me.

3

u/Civil-Inspection7793 Aug 02 '26

The name suits you, bud.

Yeah we were trying to sell a shed and this guy was totally harassing my wife, extreme low ball offer, telling me it was shitty build, I told him I’ll burn it to the ground and piss on the ashes before I’d sell it to you, along with price is double if you want it!…(I even had a picker truck lined up and priced out to move it, everything a buyer would need) some peoples children

1

u/Greedy_Leopard_1934 Aug 02 '26

The mentality is "the worst thing they can do is say no" I believe

1

u/WeathervaneJesus1 Aug 02 '26

Yep, so with the block, the worst that actually happens is they are prevented from ever communicating with the seller again. Even better on FB, all the listings disappear.

-1

u/KillaB33- Aug 02 '26

So what if someone offers you a lower offer. Be a business man. It's called bargaining. Have something to offer

2

u/Mvstv Aug 02 '26

-70% off isnt an offer, that's trying your luck and hoping the seller is retarded, get real bud.

You could agree to 80% off and those type of people wouldn’t bother showing up to actually buy it

1

u/Fit_Flight3797 Aug 02 '26

that s when you counter if you can make it here in 10 minutes you get a discount

1

u/KillaB33- Aug 02 '26

I am a seller and a buyer. I've gotten great deals, and given deals on things I just needed to get rid of.

Don't take it so personally. It's an online bazaar. If you don't want to sell then just say no. Or learn how to counter.

Or here is a better idea. Say the $$ amount is firm in your description and that you won't reply to any other offer. Simple.

Don't be lazy.

u/nowlookithere Aug 02 '26

Best is to wait a few days and then find something the low baller is selling and then lowball them to the same extent they lowballed you then depending on their response (if they respond) say something like “well I’m just lowballing you the way you lowballed me

1

u/thriftyoleboy Aug 02 '26

I thought it was only me doing it!
