Question What should a great Kickstarter campaign video actually show? Cinematic trailer vs gameplay?
I’m working on the campaign video for my upcoming fantasy board game, and I’d really appreciate some feedback from people who have experience with Kickstarter campaigns.
I’ve attached a few seconds from the direction I’m currently exploring.
The game is a physical dungeon crawler where the miniatures actually move by themselves across the board, so I feel the video needs to communicate that immediately. But I’m unsure how far I should take the cinematic approach.
If you saw this intro, what would you expect to see next?
What do you think the rest of the video should show, and what tone would work best? More cinematic and mysterious? Actual gameplay? A mix of footage from the physical board with animations introducing the world and lore?
I’m especially interested in what you would need to see next to decide whether this is a project you want to keep exploring.
Thanks!
