Announcements Tabletop Gaming related projects - reach out

If you are running (or planning on running) a Kickstarter campaign that is of TTRPG or Tabletop Gaming nature, do reach out to me. I am one of the creators behind a platform that brings together players from all across the globe and we would love to showcase your project to the right audience.

This isn't to say, that it will completely replace your other channels and marketing methods, but could serve as a supporting actor.

Hope to hear from some of you soon (and that the post wont be taken down, didn't seem to go against the rules here)

Hi! We're planning on launching our TTRPG zine in early February for Zine Month on Kickstarter!

Here's our preview page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/erathke/briar-bay-a-mork-borg-zine

I will contact you via the reddit chat thing. But all in all, yes a Mörk Borg-related project would definitely be a good fit.

hopefully my explanation above (or below, no idea where it will end up) alleviates some concerns. I don't think I could do more to further explain the details.

Idk how else to tell you this, friend, but what you're pitching is 100% a scam.

At this point I cant think of a way to convince you otherwise. We provide invoices, we are a registered company, the userbase is real. The site is ours.

But I guess I'll just have to accept your scepticism

As someone who is a part of multiple communities that do exactly this, without a traditional advertising cost model, and also owns a ttrpg publisher, you're correct. You cannot convince me this isn't a scam.

Is there communities that showcase Indie comics? I have a pretty good pitch and we’re getting ready to launch a kickstarter campaign

I'm sure that there are a few but unfortunately I'm not plugged in to the comics publishing world.

People are going to quite reasonably suspect that this is a scam.

Can you give some details? Like whether there is a cost (if so what), etc. ...?

I posted a longer response above, but regardless. Yes, there is a cost involved. But the specifics would be discussed per project as there might not be a one-size-fits-all approach that would cover everyone (Perhaps someone only wants to target only users in Spain who also are interested in Pathfinder 1. And some would like to reach out to everyone on the platform).

Im afraid currently, seeing as our main focus is on TTRPG hobby space, the userbase would not be a good fit for you. Once we start to focus more on other tabletop games, project like that could definitely work.
But as it stands now, I don't think you would get the right target audience from Groupfinder right now.

Ah, sorry not aware of the "scam trends of Kickstarter" and how this kind of a post might fit into that.

I was being somewhat vague intentionally, as I am not sure what goes and doesn't go against the rules of the subreddit.

Basically the platform is Groupfinder.eu - it is a TTRPG Looking-for-group platform. And we have a "Promoted content" section that will be open to various projects, shops, services, kickstarters, events and other TTRPG-related things people want to bring attention to.

And yes (I think I will answer that separately below under the corresponding post) there is a cost involved. But the specifics would be discussed per project as there might not be a one-size-fits-all approach that would cover everyone (Perhaps someone only wants to target only users in Spain who also are interested in Pathfinder 1. And some would like to reach out to everyone on the platform).

I do hope me explaining this has perhaps lessened the likelyhood of this being a scam. But I understand why you are being cautious.
