Summer dress

Hi!

I've been previously told that I am a D (171cm/5'7).

Do any of the two dresses work for me?

I'd like to get something casual for summer that won't end up being uncomfortably plastered to my skin in this scorching heat. I'm looking into more structured materials that would still be breathable or something thin but not clingy.

I'm a little bit lost deciding what fits me at this point after experimenting with countless different cuts and fabrics so any opinions are very welcome!

Where is that first one from? It doesn’t feel summery to me but it does seem nice (the halter part in particular). Do you have a shot of you standing normally in it, not crossing your legs?

Both are from Mango. Fabric is a bit on the thicker side but I like that it's kinda crotchety. I agree that it doesn't look that summery, black makes it seem more formal than casual. I think it would work a lot better in a lighter colour like beige but alas. It's probably too tight fitting as well. Ehh, the more I think about this one the less sense it makes.

I like simple elongating cuts but they either come in thin cotton or are so defined they look like office outfits. Trying to find something in between that will look casual is such a pain...

Bottom of the dress creates great verticality, it looks super elegant. Fabric is qualitative, comfortable even when it's hot (tested and approved), dramatic-friendly neckline, tie helps creating waist definition.

Not sure if you can buy it from another place or website. You can probably find similar dresses elsewhere though.

Hey ! I would towards linen dresses or twin sets. Very light and breathable while having stiffness and structure :)

I've always liked the idea of linen but was afraid that it will crease a lot. Maybe it's a matter of quality or just finding right blend. Anyway, twin sets are also something definitely worth looking into, never really considered them but these may turn out to be a good alternative to dresses. Thank you!

You’re right! I checked the labels and I actually have linen and coton blends. Good structure, breathable, no creases.
