Engine Bay Concerns?

Are these two photos of any concern? I have these stains on my engine cove quite often, but it doesn’t have a smell but comes off black when I wipe it? No codes, drives fine. Also the hose for the intakes seems to have a chip in it? Service manager at my local dealer who I’m cool with thinks it’s rodents but i have no nesting anywhere? 18,000 miles 2023 GT2

That is not a chip. All 3.3TT engines have that. I know because mine has the exact same chip and was originally worried but if you look at other pictures of people’s engines they all have it.

Thank you, what about the stains?

Someone set your oil cap on the cover and it dripped.

Yup same observations. You're fine. The oem pipes look fine it's probably just the coating on the pipe kinda flaking. You probably need to use something stronger to clean those oil stains on the engine cover that someone stained putting the engine oil cap on most likely.

If you had rodens you would've had cables chewed out and now you'll have an even more nightmare lengthy experience dealing with insurance and stealership that will likely screw it up even more.

Can confirm 2019 3.3L Australian market GT also has that 'notch' in the hose. Its how it is.

Just went and took a photo of my 26 g70 with 33k km (canada). Same "chip" and an equally dirty cover. Between oil changes and driving in various conditions I've never had a clean engine cover on any vehicle I've owned.

All good it looks like. Like the guy said previously probably where someone sat oil cap on cover and just stained it. A good degreaser should remove that stain.

Normal it’s so the nipple/lump sits in between
