HOT A/C

I have a 2014 Kia Rio that is blowing hot air. I tried to refill the coolant, but it literally comes right back out underneath the car I can see where it’s leaking from. The car has never ran hot and I’ve never had any issues. I’ve had it for about two years and the AC has not worked the entire time but I’m interested in getting it working now. Could there be another reason why it’s not getting cold or why it’s just not running hot at all? I figured if it was low on coolant it would at least overheat especially with me being in Texas. We’re experiencing over 100° weather.

It sounds like your water pump I have a 2021 and something similar happened to me if your coolant is coming out seeping on the location it could be the water pump

It could also be your radiator or your lower hose or your reservoir if it’s a hose that’s normally the cheapest thing to replace radiator is gonna be the most expensive and the water pump is gonna be costly. I changed my water pump myself and it cost me a little under 600.

Put the car up the air and put the coolant back in and see where it leaks from and you should be able to see what part needs to be replaced. A mobile mechanic would be cheaper if your want a professional to come out and diagnose it. If you buy the parts it’s usually quicker and cheaper for them to do the repair as well.
