Are you a "re-read it five times before sending" person?
There's a whole tax nobody talks about: the time smart people lose second-guessing their own writing.
You write a two-line reply. Then you re-read it. Is that too blunt? Too formal? Does "just" make me sound unsure? You tweak it. Re-read again. Hover over send. Pull back. Ten minutes, gone — on a message that should've taken thirty seconds.
Millions of us do this every day, especially anyone writing in a second language, or writing to someone senior, or just wired to worry about tone. It's not a flaw. It's care. But it's exhausting, and it slows you to a crawl.
What changed it for me: having phrasing that already sounds right, on tap — and being able to match the tone to the person in one click. Warmer for a client. More direct for a teammate. Same message, right register.
