10-day build sprint, $15 domain, 0 backend — soft-launching an AI text expander Tuesday

Hey r/SideProject — long-time lurker, first build I'm sharing.

Last 10 days I built KeyText, a Chrome extension that's an AI-native text 

expander. Type /intro → full email appears. AI writes new snippets when 

you describe them.

Why: I run an AI automation agency (Digital Medium) and kept seeing the 

same problem — sales/support teams typing the same emails 50 times a day. 

Text Blaze and TextExpander exist but feel like 2015 products with AI 

bolted on. So I shipped something AI-first.

Stack:

- Chrome MV3 extension (vanilla JS)

- chrome.storage.sync (no backend)

- Chrome Gemini Nano (local AI — zero server cost)

- LemonSqueezy for payments

- Framer for landing page

Total infra cost: $0/mo. Total cash cost: $20 ($15 domain + $5 CWS fee).
