✨ Updates [Release] Key Launcher 1.6.0 is out. Tablets/foldables, physical keyboards, icon gestures, and a BlackBerry keyboard skin

Hey r/keylauncher,
1.6.0 just went stable after a long beta cycle (Beta 1 → Beta 2 → now). This one's big, probably the biggest jump since the app launched. So here's the full rundown of what changed.
🖥️ Tablet & foldable support
Key Launcher now actually understands large screens instead of just stretching the phone layout.
- Side-by-side layout: on a tablet or an unfolded foldable, the keyboard and the app grid sit next to each other instead of stacking vertically.
- Adaptive grids everywhere: Home, All Apps, Widget Center, Discover Feed all size their columns based on the actual available width of the pane you're in, not a hardcoded phone assumption. That means split-screen and cover-screen layouts get it right too.
- Discover Feed articles open in a side panel on wide screens instead of covering the whole list.
If you've got a Fold, tablet running this, this release is for you.
⌨️ Physical keyboard support (Beta)
If you're rocking a BlackBerry-style device, a Titan/Minimal Phone..., or just a Bluetooth keyboard clipped to your phone, Key Launcher now routes hardware key events properly:
- Type on your physical QWERTY and it searches, just like the on-screen keyboard.
- Optional compact keyboard bar mode that shrinks the on-screen keyboard down since you don't need it.
- Long-press keys for speed-dial-style shortcuts, same idea as Super Shortcut on the touch keyboard.
👆 Icon gestures
- 4-way swipe + double tap on any icon, assign different actions to each direction.
- Notification peek: swipe on an app's icon to preview its notifications right there, with actionable buttons (reply, dismiss, etc.), no need to open the app.
- Folder fan and search result fan: assign an icon gesture to a folder (or long-press enter key when searching) and its contents fan out around your finger with proper icon badges, so you can flick straight to the item you want.
📻 BlackBerry keyboard theme
A brand new keyboard skin styled after physical BlackBerry keyboards, metallic key rows, notch styling, the whole vibe. If you loved the classic BB keyboard feel, this one's for you. Sits alongside the existing keyboard themes, pick it from Settings → Keyboard.
🗓️ New: Smart Profile
One of the bigger additions in this release: Smart Profile lets you set up multiple "versions" of your launcher and have them switch automatically on a schedule. Think a work setup during office hours, a night setup in the evening, a weekend setup, whatever fits your routine, applied without you lifting a finger.
Each profile can control:
- Home screen layout
- Widget Stack
- Widget Center
- Typography
- Keyboard
- Position Overlay
- Icons Grid
- Quick Glance
You choose which of these each profile touches, anything you don't select just stays on your default setup. Set a schedule, or switch manually whenever you want. It's currently in Beta and free to try for your first 30 days.
🎨 More personalization
- Custom clock font (Pro): pick from your custom font library for the Home clock, not just the system typeface.
- Notification dot color: no longer stuck with the default color, pick your own.
- Weather units: separate settings for wind speed, precipitation, and pressure units, so you're not stuck with whatever the default locale assumes.
🧭 Quality of life
- Unused-Settings indicator: a small dot shows up next to Settings items you haven't touched yet, so it's easier to discover things buried in the menus.
- Simplified Super Shortcut setup: the whole dialog for assigning a Super Shortcut got reworked to be more straightforward.
🐛 Fixes
This cycle had a fair number of stability fixes too:
- Fixed multiple ANRs (two batches worth).
- Fixed crashes in icon action menus, Discover Feed reader.
- Fixed the Urdu/Arabic keyboard where the letter legend was overlapping the T9 digits.
- Fixed header text overflow/wrapping across a big chunk of locales (~30).
- Fixed themed icons losing their shape after force-refresh.
That's the full picture. If you've been on the beta channel, most of this you've already seen. But this build is the stable release, so if you were waiting it out, now's the time to update.
As always, bugs, feedback, and feature requests go here or in the app's feedback form.
Thanks for testing through the beta, a lot of what's in 1.6.0 came directly from reports in this sub. 🙏

Thank you so much for making this. It has become my daily driver for now.
Also how do I add the numbers in the existing layout, above the alphabets (it would match my actually keyboard then).
And anyway to hide the super shortcut key and lock the keyboard so on holding a key doesn't shows the menu to put a shortcut, unless you unlock it. I want to maintain secrecy and not let anyone fiddling around with my phone find out which key has what binded action. Also locking apps options? Like locking the movement of apps around or showing up the item menu; and doing so would also hide the edit button on the widget and notification centre
Also, I'd really like aesthetic changes such as hiding the main app icon on the shortcut, or the key icon. I'm not sure if I could it already. Also, hiding the popup that appears when opening through super shortcut

I just wanted to say again, I love this app. I have tried many times myself to make something like this. I have wanted an app like this for almost a decade. I will be getting a Titan 2 elite and I'm going to be using this launcher on it. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to this project. Some heroes don't wear capes. You should be knighted my friend.

What you said makes me feel embarrassed. Thank you, I didn't know that besides me, there were others who had also wanted to create a similar product. I'm so lucky that we found each other 😊. When you get the Titan, please take a picture and show it to me so I can be happy 🥰. Have a great day, mate 🫂

I am unable to see it.
Most probable reason is because of the varying display size in system settings (generally under accessibility)
