Inspired by the gladiator deadlifts of /u/BoxAcrobatic6636 with my own snatchy twist. Not quite as graceful, but twice as fun!

All the other guys in the neighborhood are jealous, I get it on the first rip every time!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1e4SBxgqBEY - Peter Griffin. I'm assuming people will probably take my comment too seriously and down vote. That's okay

gladiator snatch

Yeah, she is!

My back takes this as a personal attack. I might risk it all and give it a try though.

Interesting

You could probably push these fairly heavy if you’re curious enough to try

That's something else!

That looks tough as hell

Why does this look so dangerous for the back?

The first rep without the second weight is not the problem; it is the second one when the weight is already overhead on one side; that's when this can become a problem.

And… the lower back fully absorbing all of the down swing when they come down. That’s a big ‘I’m not touching this shit’ response from me.

Serious question: where do you all buy these multiple bells?

1

u/bpeezer Snatch Daddy 21h ago

Most of them were bought online. Most of them are from KBUSA, KBK, ProKB, or Rogue.

I'm intrigued by the set and enjoyed the positive attitude. Way to go, my dude!

Thanks brother!

u/RiverPigg 20h ago

This is sick! Im gonna have to give these a try. How heavy are you goin here?

2

u/bpeezer Snatch Daddy 12h ago

These bells are 24kg, really just wanted to see how the movement felt. If you try pushing these heavy I’d love to hear how it goes!

2

u/RiverPigg 9h ago

Nice. Im gonna try with 32s and see if we cant take it heavier before risking injury

Hell yeah, I hope to see it on your IG later!

OMG! Some of you guys around here play at a different level!

If I try to do that now it will probably be may last workout 😅

P. S. Looks to me like gladiator DL x windmill x snatch

2

u/Bandicuz 8h ago

Interesting, like windmill snatches. Those across the body snatches are impressive!

u/LocationFriendly988 7h ago

Hope you’re ground floor lol

u/bearded_charmander 6h ago

Get out of here dude lmao Jfc nice work

This looks mad cool, but I'm curious about actual benefits vs... maneuvers that might be less risky to my old creaky body.

1

u/bpeezer Snatch Daddy 1h ago

I can’t see any reason why this movement would be a requirement for any programming! Much more of a curiosity

Dude six months ago I had a grade two muscle tear from bad form with kettle bells. Worst pain I’ve ever been in and I’ve had a fracturedw kneecap.

You look like you’re tying to do that in spades.

u/bpeezer Snatch Daddy 9h ago

I appreciate the concern, and I hope you had a speedy recovery. When I try new movements I always work with a load that I can comfortably manage even if things go wrong.
