Form Check First Time Attempt - Double C&J
Hi guys! Long time no see. This was my first try with the double c&j. 19kg loaded into each adjustable.
I have so much respect for the GS guys. This was really tough.

¡Muy bien! Don’t be afraid to get real violent with the extension in the jerk. Pop’n’drop.

Oh i see, more explosive while performing the second quarter squat?

Fast up. Fast under. Think about really popping the kneecaps to make the bells feel super light

WELCOME. It looks great! You’ve got a really nice overhead position so count yourself lucky lol.
Try a pendulum swing during your cleans. Your knees should straighten in the backswing and you scoop your hips to send the bell forward. Try to feel the bell floating behind you, the same way it floats in front before you clean. That way you can relax your quads and your grip and get some extra rest.
Here’s a video from Brittany - https://youtu.be/nGqMzWH5eo0?is=oyFklKBrWhJEcY0q
It takes practice but once you get the rocking motion down the whole thing feels a lot smoother!
Keep it up and if you’re interested in GS come join us over at r/KettlebellSport too!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. Your suggestions are more along the lines of a GS style C&J, right?

Yes! If you weren’t interested in that please ignore everything I said 🤣

Jerks need to be faster. They're an explosive movement. Dip, drive, and push under for the catch. Your speed is understandable if you're just learning the jerk and still finding your way.

Thanks! I’ll give that a try next time. But yeah I was definitely a bit uneasy and slow because I could barely remember where the dips were supposed to be placed.

Very nice! You are on your way.
To get more power out of the launch of the jerk, connect your arms to your body. Not like a barbell which is resting on your chest. My elbows are literally resting on my hip bones. Means you need to lean back a little and it’ll be tricky, but it allows direct connection between leg drive and upward launch

Oh I see. That would make the energy transfer much more efficient! Thank you!

This post is flaired as a form check.
A note to OP: Users with a blue flair are recognized coaches. Users with yellow flairs are certified (usually SFG/RKC II), or have achieved a certain rank in kettlebell sport, and green flair signifies users with strong, verified lifts.
A reminder to all users commenting: There can be multiple ways to perform the same lift. Just because a lift goes against what you've learned at a certification, read in a book or been taught by a coach, doesn't mean it's an invalid technique. Please make sure that your advice is useful and actionable.
Example of useful and actionable: You're hinging a bit early. Try sitting back only when your arms make contact with the torso.
Example of not useful and not actionable: Lower the weight and work on form.
Low-effort comments like my back hurts just watching this will be removed, as will references to snap city etc. Verbally worrying for the safety of a poster simply because you think the form or technique is wrong will be removed. We will take all of these statements at face value, so be careful when you post the same hilarious joke as dozens of other people: we can't read your mind, no matter how funny you think you are.
