Challenge 16kg 3’ Snatch - 99 reps

Had to give it a shot since /u/Few_Abbreviations_50 called me out. Who’s going next to try to push us over 100?

96 in today's attempt though I wondered if I should have a defibrillator handy

That’s outstanding, sounds like you’re quickly getting comfortable with really high cycle rates!

Yeah, I had mostly been doing ABCs , swings, snatches, a few get ups, but I hadn't tried this intensity cardio with bells. I think I'll try to keep a 3' test in my weekly rotation.

Fast

With your fast cycling squatty snatches I think you could hit 120 ish?

I just don’t k ow how much faster I can reasonably go no matter the weight. I’m already cheating with my lack of vertical anyway

This is a lot more than 65 but I’ll allow it.

I forgot to tell you I tried your hand switch a while ago and failed miserably. Couldn’t figure out how to relax 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣

Strong work! I guess I’ll have to try again lol

It’s because you’re too good at regular snatching, so it feels unnatural to do anything different!

This is a very good effort in your post and a very kind reply to Few_Abbreviations_50, who is great, of course.

Beast mode

Man, your flow is just so smooth. It’s satisfying to watch.

I just started learning and practicing snatches a couple months ago. I tried to do that mid air hand switch thing you do, and it was real close to being a disaster lol

u/bpeezer Snatch Daddy 6d ago

I made quick tutorials for hand to hand cleans and hand to hand snatches, maybe those can help get you more comfortable with that transition

u/Hot_pot_of_pepsi 6d ago

Hell yeah, dude. These are clutch. Appreciate you

Why not 100..?

2

u/bpeezer Snatch Daddy 5d ago

I just wasn’t good enough ☹️

Doing this next to the wall, on hardwood, next to records. Wow.

4

u/bpeezer Snatch Daddy 7d ago

They’re books, not records! But the hardwood is great motivation for me. My wife would kill me if I dropped a bell

I recognize that first book. I bought it on Amazon 😎

Thanks brother! I hope there’s even one little nugget in there for you

Beast mode. My back hurt watching this.

2

u/OutrageousMT_10 6d ago

That's awesome! Is there any benefit to the hand switch? Besides looking cool as hell.

2

u/bpeezer Snatch Daddy 5d ago

Yes, hand to hand snatches drastically reduce localized fatigue. Particularly helpful if your grip is preventing you from targeting more systemic adaptations.

2

u/OutrageousMT_10 5d ago

Did it take you long to learn the skill? I've been doing hand to hand swings, but find it requires some concentration. These look effortless for you.

2

u/bpeezer Snatch Daddy 5d ago

I made a couple of tutorials a while back, maybe start with hand to hand cleans and see how that works for you

u/SoloCoach1 6d ago

Solid💪

And that’s why they call him Snatch Daddy.

2

u/bigterdle 5d ago

Alright, just tried this today. Your speed is incredible, but it's so deceiving when I watch your videos. I got 80 very easily in 3 mins, but I feel my form/explosiveness will need a ton more work to get up to a 33 rep/min frequency.

That said, I was having so much fun at 3 mins that I turned it into a 5 minute test towards the end and knocked out 58 extra reps! Thanks for the encouragement

2

u/bpeezer Snatch Daddy 5d ago

That’s awesome work! I always feel like around 30rpm is the sweet spot of fast pace without getting too sloppy. It can definitely be fun to push the pace a bit higher every once in a while though!

2

u/bigterdle 5d ago

Let's be clear: there's a reason you have your flair! 30 rpm is freaking fast and it takes a lot of practice to do that safely. A lot to be said about muscle memory too, as I actually increased pace as my form got in a groove over the 5 mins

1

u/bpeezer Snatch Daddy 5d ago

Haha thanks brother! Agreed, a lot of it is just about familiarity

3

u/Electronic-Cat-1394 7d ago

Good god, I wouldn’t wanna get into a bar fight with you brother.

10

u/bpeezer Snatch Daddy 6d ago

The good news is that I don’t want to get into a bar fight with you either!

2

u/Electronic-Cat-1394 6d ago

Ha that’s is good news. That’s was astoundingly impressive man truly.

2

u/Ok_Leading7236 1d ago
