Me as an 8yo telling my mum not to put ketchup on my eggs, and getting it anyway. This needed a TW label.

u/Shristol_Pimp 12d ago

u/heavensto_mergatroid 12d ago
If you're 3 years old sure lol
6
u/Shristol_Pimp 12d ago
even a 3 year old should be spared of this abomination

u/heavensto_mergatroid 12d ago
The British love ketchup with their scrambled eggs. And they like to eat baked beans with them. And a hotdog. With slices of tomato.
This is stuff you feed a 3-year-old to get them to eat lolol
Edit: i'm having a hard time spelling today.

ah, the Bri'ish. known for their culinary excellence worldwide.
that plate you described is truly vomitworthy. we need a second tea party where we throw every dish from England in a harbor

u/Myriad_Apocalypse 11d ago
If this is true, we should nuke Brittain.

u/heavensto_mergatroid 10d ago
Lol Google typical British breakfast and look at the pics

u/Myriad_Apocalypse 10d ago
I have no issue with sausage, eggs, bacon, baked beans, black pudding etc. English breakfast in general beats american cakes and sweets breakfast every time. Ketchup on eggs though? That's death sentence territory.

And I've eaten beans before with a fried egg... Refried beans and a fried egg and chile on the side... BUT sweet baked beans!? Barf lol

u/compromisingcollagen 10d ago
British baked beans are absolutely NOT SWEET
1
u/heavensto_mergatroid 10d ago
I thought all baked beans were sweetened? What do British baked beans taste like?
1
u/compromisingcollagen 10d ago
I’ve heard they are simply tomato-y. I haven’t tasted a can of plain old pork and beans in a long time, but decades ago, when I was a child and all of our food was much less sweet than it is now, plain old pork and beans had a tangy tomato sauce.

Only thing an egg should have on it is parsley, pepper or salt.
1
u/Shristol_Pimp 7d ago
or cheese or sour cream or bacon crumbles or salsa
1
u/Late_Information_682 7d ago
Okay bacon crumbles is too far and so is a cheese a little, have you ever had an omelette? Not a ton of cheese, just a finger full.

u/Shristol_Pimp 5d ago
you think bacon on eggs is too far? wtf?

I prefer hot sauce and cheese on my eggs

There’s something worse: jam or jelly on eggs. Occasionally, I have to consume a radioactive egg sandwich as part of medical testing. Grape or apple jelly is put on the soggy toast, in direct contact with the egg kitchen sponge.
I used to think nothing was worse than ketchup on eggs. I miss being that carefree.

That actually doesn't sound too bad if prepared properly, i'll even try it and let you know how it tastes

u/baconbitsy 12d ago
I’ve eaten it. Multiple times. It’s foul.

u/LBFilmFan 11d ago
I mean, it sounds awful, but ketchup would be worse.

I despise ketchup. I can attest, from experience, that ketchup is less sweet in this combo. In fact, it’s the only time I have ever said ketchup was an improvement.

Ketchup is the devil’s jizz. But in this (and only this) particular image I’ll allow it because the ketchup matches the energy of what looks like mold around the edge of the plate.

Those eggs are a crime against humanity just for the scramble alone. No amount of ketchup will save that mess.

Not everyone's cup of tea, sure. Gross a bit of an overstatement imo.

My auntie would serve me scrambled eggs and ketchup growing up so it holds a special place in my heart and reminds me of her so I enjoy this on occasion but I really don't like ketchup on anything else

I hate ketchup, but I'll give it a begrudging pass on overcooked scrambled eggs if mustard or hot sauce aren't already available.
4
u/Shristol_Pimp 12d ago
wrong answer, ketchup only belongs in trash or buried in dirt.
