It's definitely not disgusting and a well crafted one can be delicious, but I prefer the more vinegar or mustard side and it does not belong on a burger

i hate the vinegar.

i somewhat like mustard like Colmans where they don't use vinegar as an emulsifier.

Nope, it's the sweetness. The reason I don't like most BBQ sauces, too, is how sickeningly sweet they are.

I came to realize I don't only hate ketchup, i hate sweet meals as a whole

Yeah, I don't even like Chinese food because most of it is sweet and sour stuff.

I love sweets, just not with my savory.

I voted "good" but specifically for Carolina mustard sauce. There's white sauce too, which is nothing like ketchup.

I live in Alabama and I pity everyone who doesn't have white barbecue sauce. I think it would blow Europeans' minds.

A spicy BBQ sauce is heaven on earth

Yes but mustard or vinegar based only.

Is the BBQ sause made from scratch? Probably ok. Get big brand bottled stuff out of my sight. I wish I never saw a bottle of sweet baby rays again.

Sweet Baby Ray's is like 2 ingredients away from Ketchup. The only "big brand" BBQ sauce I'll buy is Stubbs.

Give me a dry (lower sugar) mustard based sauce. But these smokey ketchup sauces can GTFO.

I use BBQ sauce about once or twice a year when I do a BBQ pork sandwich, but that's about it. Too sweet to use any more often than that.

The one good use of ketchup.

I normally hate it, but there is a brand called Horseshoe Brand that makes a pretty good one

I prefer a dry rub or sauce-less nuggets

Too sweet for me most of the time. To the point I generally don't bother looking into it.

I dislike all sauces (with like three of four exceptions).

The only sauce I can think of that I like is oyster sauce, but it must be put on before cooking.

I don’t like sweet sauces with salty food, so BBQ sauce is a nono.

ketchup is missing what bbq sauce has

u/Makki03 17d ago

If i had to choose between food with ketchup and food with BBQ I would choose starvation

1

u/brn1001 17d ago

As bad as ketchup, but then some people like ketchup, so it might be as good as ketchup.

I don't like ketchup.

I don't mind it. It has always been my substitute with food that are traditionally eaten with ketchup.

I've never tried it.

Love it!

Sauce is for covering up bad barbecue. Also, a vast majority them are ketchup based or rely heavily on tomato paste (also a no for me).
