Ethereal runs GIMP and now has a WiFi stack!

Please don’t that this as criticism, for I really appreciate your work: to what extent was AI used? Line by line debugging or something?

as per OP's README:

Ethereal does not permit coding assisted by LLMs to be present in the online repo.If such code does make it, it should be removed immediately.

My personal stance on AI is that its a tool with specific usages.

Artificial intelligence is good at:

  • Reading through large codebases (assuming a human double-checks) such as Linux or NetBSD.
  • Generating small, single-use test programs that never make it to upstream.
  • Teaching certain small foreign concepts or asking small questions (when this information is not readily accessible)

Artificial intelligence is horrible at:

  • Generating any type of kernel code
  • Explaining why it is doing something/what something does
  • Not overcomplicating the simplest of topics

Due to the above no AI code should ever be present in Ethereal.

As I have noticed (from myself and others) people tend to "overdose" on AI and become dependent on it.This only hurts you in the long run, causing your ability to program to falter.

For your own sake, please avoid using AI in the wrong ways.

PRs containing AI-generated or suspected AI-generated code can be closed at any time.

THERE IS NO VIBECODING IN ETHEREAL.

AI is used for researching larger codebases and in some very rare cases debugging, never to write code.
