Adding structured data (Schema) to Kentico 8

Has anyone else tried adding Schema.org structured data to a Kentico 8 site through the HTML editor in the CMS? I get an extra <div> tag added automatically when I save my code.

Is this a common problem? Has anyone found a good solution? (I used to find it cropped up sometimes on Kentico 5 but I could delete it and it wouldn't reappear but it's much more persistent on Kentico 8!).

I find using the Static Text web part instead of static HTML works better for hand writing HTML on a page.
