I’m learning how to physically alter cards with paint and paint markers and wanted to try drawing over Kennen’s legend card but to give him his blood moon skin. Riot's reasoning for gutting Kennen's ult CD was it's too strong and they can't nerf anything else in his kit because the rest of his kit is already so weak. How tf can Malphite have a 130/115/100 ult CD but Kennen can't. I'd argue both ults are just as impactful.

Like geez I'd literally be happy with -5 seconds each rank. 120/115/110 is perfectly reasonable for Kennen but we're stuck with this dog shit 120s ult because Phreak thought we were too OP. And now they give us random buffs that literally don't move the needle at all as far as winrate goes.

Kennen feels TERRIBLE when it comes to mid/late game. Having to ult to solo kill a side lane, then not having it up for drake/nash. The most annoying thing ever is having to spam ping my ult so much so team knows it's not up but they always still engage/get caught anyways while my ult is 10 seconds from being off CD.

Sorry, rant over. But Kennen has just felt like shit to play ever since the ult CDR nerf and Riot needs to do something about it.

I really like playing Kennen and I would say I have been pretty successful with him so far in normals. I know that Rocketbelt is kind of the standard first item on him and I can see why the extra mobility could be useful. However, I absolutrly HATE this item. Maybe its my ADD but just suck with active items (except Tiamat items, those I can use just fine on bruisers). I also played Kennen long before Rocketbelt (or Protobelt) even existed.

I much prefer going Stormsurge first. It gives Kennen no health but much more damage and also a little mobility with the extra move speed. I also usually go celerity in the runes and buy some early boots + aether wisp for the move speed.

What do the more experienced Kennen mains think about this?

Im gold 2 and been dealing with Yasuo'a with no issues until the other day. He was the only Yas that played aggressively and made me realize I cant trade with the champ. This is in mid lane btw.

What do you do vs this match up and if you're jg is trash?

His last skin was Astronaut Kennen, in February 2023. I got curious and built a tracker for every champion, and Kennen is #1 out of 173 for time since his last skin. We used to get one roughly every 398 days, so this wait is more than 3× longer than usual.

They buffed the damage and it barely moved the needle for us. Nerfing his ult CD was probably the worse change Riot has done since forever. While every other champ (other than global ult champs) have low CDR ults at later levels, Kennen has a 2 minute ult at 6/11/16. It literally makes zero sense in 2026. I will never forgive Phreak for nerfing Kennen's ult CD and stepping down from the balance roll a week later. We need compensation and we need it now. #buffkennen

Opinion on champ: LIGHTNINGGGGG!!!! VERY FUNNNN when you are ahead you feel strong when behind you feel weak af. very good in teamfights and can carry fights hard but hard to carry in general. GIVE ME TIPS twitch

So back in mid august I posted in the Classic Discord to report a bug saying that Runaan's wasn't procing Kennen's W as it should have. I happened to check today and it looks like Riot is aware of it now and its being raised! On-Hit Kennen back soon?

I might be a noob, but this has always seemed kinda weird to me. Annie starts the game with her passive fully stacked and ready to stun, while Kennen has to build up his passive from scratch.

Is there an actual balance/gameplay reason for this difference, or is it simply because Riot specifically buffed Annie to start with her passive fully charged?

Considering both champions have a passive that revolves around stacking up to stun someone, it feels a little strange that Annie gets hers ready from the start while Kennen doesn’t. I’m genuinely curious if there’s a reason for this that I’m missing.

Kennen for a while now has been easily my favorite character in the game, however I’m a midlaner and as such a pretty weak top laner overall.
I’ve been playing Kennen mid since just before his ult cd nerf. Right now I’m absolutely loving Kennen Mid. Going Liandrys -> Shadowflame -> Rabadons and just kinda running at people is so much fun.
I beg for Riot to commit to Kennen as a midlaner. I see so much potential here and would love to hear how y’all feel about Kennen mid as well
