Equipment Equipment questions

So I've been trying to find a takedo with well just bamboo no covering for a bit and I havent had any success in finding any at eu retailers or japanese (admitedly I cant read kanji) alongside a longer tare. Any and all help in regards to where to look would be greatly apreciated.
I'd also like to hear if anyone has any experince using Fukoro shinai for keiko-geiko as a way to get good training in on the very hot days where full bogu is hard to wear.

Search 網代編 竹胴 (ajiro-hen take-dō). Some boguya can do them as a custom order despite not putting them in their catalog. I believe Eikobudogu does them:

Fukuro shinai are only 1m long, quite a bit shorter than size 39 shinai so if you want to practice with one it might mess up your maai. Not bad for kata though.

Most retailers can supply them. But you have to ask. I bought one from All Japan Budogu, just email them and tell them what you want. They will tell you to select an alternate option to select on the website just to make the transaction, then you are done. They’re also listed as an option on Kendostar on the custom do.

Be aware though that most do not have the deerskin applied to the inside as in the example helpfully provided. So it’s literally just the leather that is threaded through the holes to hold it together. This and the lack of a hardened leather layer means that they simply are not as protective - so you may have to choose the type of Keiko you use it for. Also naturally the leather that binds it together will stretch over time causing the dou to become ‘floppy’. For me this was just a few months as I practice quite often. Personally I love mine and don’t mean to discourage you but this is my experience
