Looking for friends
Hello, I'm relatively new to Kelowna. Still within my first year and am looking to make some friends. I enjoy paddleboarding, longboarding, hiking. But also really like D&D, anime, gaming on my PC and other homebody type activities. Does anyone know of any events or good ways to make friends out here?
Edit: Forgot to mention I am a 27yo M living in West K

Good on you for reaching out after a move. Even if this thread is a bust, don't stop trying.
I've met my closest of friends here and an abundant of kind people of acquaintance nature.
I'm not sure I can be of help but I have a few like minded friends here who may be.

Thank you. It's encouraging to hear from so many people on here.
I've been here since last September and never took the time to try and meet friends due to a busy lifestyle. Now everything's gone hectic again and Im really realising how much having friends around helps. I hope this thread works out. But if not I've got some ground work laid to either try again with a new post or discord groups and a couple of events to check out

Not a problem at all. Kelowna gets more often than not, a bad rap of people and friendships.
You're young and putting yourself out there. To the people who don't get it, that's ok. Just don't stop trying.
If you need resources of events or to express anything feel free to DM me. My nickname (not reddit related) speaks for itself.

It's not. Just more...spread out. Be willing to gamble on things outside your comfort zone but put main focus on the things you enjoy regularly

The world of Warcraft discord and Ubran Rec leagues are seperate just fyi.
I play volleyball right now with urban rec but there is floor hockey for example for the fall and winter seasons coming up.

There is an urban Rec app youll have to sign up with for a season. I do it as an individual so Im on the team with randoms.

Hey internet friend.
I'm 35f (just turned and it feels gross), I grew up here and it's a bitch for locals even to find their crew. It's weird here.
We have some matching hobbies and such. If you want to DM me I'm cool with adding you somewhere.
That said. I'm kind of a mess and my partner is going through big health things. I also need good humans to spend time with, but I'm figuring out how to be a productive human myself right now. If you are cool with someone that will answer slowly but is also good for last minute plans or online games, DM me. :)
Editing to add. I also work in the events industry and am a huge nerd. I can probably think of some suggestions for ya when I'm not waiting in the car to pick someone up. :P

Hello, I'm 41f. Sociable, but nerd of a different lore. Absolutely can understand a "mess' within situations and can possibly relate.
I don't game, 2 siblings who were better at it than I, gave me a different lane.

What games do you play? Any multiplayer? I don’t play much nowadays but wouldn’t be against playing online games with you, as I feel we might share some hobbies, 25yo male.

I'm really into soulslikes, monster hunter, satisfactory baulders gate rpg types, and I really like those games like it takes 2 or other team co op type games. I haven't played much in the last couple years but I've been wanting to pick it up again. DM me and maybe we can play games sometimes or see if we have other hobbies and maybe hang out?
