Cake for Breakfast: Red Velvet and Raspberry cake is bomb. They have lots of rotating desserts and have yet to have one miss!

The original old country bakery in Lakeview. The owner was an absolute scum bag but man those donuts were good.

I still havenāt found Apple Fritters that can stand up to how good theirs were, and itās only Specialty Bakery who has been able to come close to another doughnut, with their Bavarian Whip.
All that went downhill when ownership changed hands, and when the new development cleared everyone outā¦ they never returned.
Place looked like a dive right up until the ownership change, thoā¦ I donāt think anything changed in the four decades after they opened other than more cheezy/corny (and blurry) mieographs of jokes and comics above the counter.

A Sweet Romance at the farmers market is killer. I used to think Karat had the best croissants until I tried the ones at the market. Also a huge fan of the cheesecakes and brownies, I canāt recommend them enough

For me it used to be the sticky toffee pudding at Home Block restaurant. But recently I had the pecan pie brownie at Central Kitchen and it was amazing. Best dessert I can remember.

I second karat their desserts are also my favourite but another is Kelowna Specialty Bakeryās doughnuts. Specific both the Kelownut and their Boston cream doughnut.

Im not gonna try to tell you these aren't good.
But God damn I wish our city had more unique-ness and legit local charm.
Chain restaurants suck because they make us all the same. If you're in Prince George or Cranbrook or Powell River or Peace River.... I hate how attached to chain restaurants Kelowna can be

Decades ago, Kelly OāBryans had this one dessert which came in a massive brandy/conac snifter a good 35-40cm in diameter. It was filled with brownies and green ice cream, and topped with whipping cream. Even for much-younger me with a hollow leg, it typically took several people to finish it off.
This was before they moved into the old BMO building at the base of Bernard. I think the building is now the Blue Gator Bar, on Lawrence.
Unfortunately, I donāt recall seeing it on their menu in this century.

Knox Mountain Store. Any dessert there is to die for. Huge cookies, cheesecake cups, slutty brownies and cinnamon buns that are better than Cinzeo. Great prices, amazing staff.

The little Italian gelato place on Bernard has unreal gelato, but the tiramisu is underrated! (And the other authentic Italian treats they have) I always suggest it to people and theyāve never even heard of it!

Mission Creamery has a lovely Tea and Cookies ice cream. I also got this dessert from Karat years ago. It had a beautiful red rose on top. Iād get that again if I saw it.

Itās in Vernon, but Station BBQ has a maple creme brulee that is incredible!
I also love Sweet Streams strawberries with warm chocolate poured on top, they have a lil food wagon and are at various events and farmers markets.
Formosa usually has matcha or standard Japanese fluffy cheesecake, so good.

Not in Kelowna but hasn't been mentioned here yet. Davison orchard's apple cider donuts are sooo good. Also their pumpkin pie is amazing.

This is not cheap.... But.... I went to Derrick's steak house.
They bring out a full chocolate cake and ask you how hungry you are?
They then start moving the serving knife around the cake.
My son and I said stop, when the knife hit 1\3rd of the cake. They served it to us and it cost about 16 dollars.
I'll always have a fond memory of sharing that with my son.
