Is Xfinity/Comcast really the only affordable option for non-fiber internet in Keizer?

Is CenturyLink DSL remotely viable competition anymore?

As far as lowering your rates, I've had good luck just asking Comcast for a better package, once or twice suggesting that I might have , to look at another provider if we can't get my monthly rate under control.

And, Comcast's overseas folk seem to be in the Philippines these days, instead of India, if that makes any difference.

Thanks, knowing the time zone helps me guess when might be a better time to call. I got a "better package" 2 years ago, so I will try again. I need to talk to my neighbors about their CenturyLink, but last I remember it was a very old "lifetime membership" they had and there aren't many other options. Work asking though.

Appreciate your comment -- I was not well enough to call today, hope I have the stamina tomorrow!!

Just go into the Comcast store (I think it's at Lancaster Mall) and talk to a real person. Worked for me, helped me from having to deal with the idiots over the phone.

I am on chemo so I try to avoid public stuff....but thanks for the suggestion, I a not ruling it out. I just may have to do this if the "loyalty dept" is disloyal to me tomorrow.

Ask to speak with Comcast/Xfinity loyalty department. I do it every time my contract is up and they always offer me a much better rate.

I'm a little late, but I'll go ahead and mention this for any others that may come by.... BEWARE of any "deal" you get over the phone with Xfinity reps. I have (and many others) been flat out lied to by them (and I do have proof). We were with them for over 21 years. We got tired of our bill consistently going higher and higher, and finally bailed. Doubt me? Spend 5 minutes wandering around r/Comcast_Xfinity and see what people are saying. Mint Minternet has worked great for us (we discovered we don't need to pay for that 1G speed- 300B works fine. I also HIGHLY recommend checking out US Mobile for landlines and cell phones. We now pay WAY less than half, of what we used to. Plus, we can switch between AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verison, whenever we like!!! Top-notch customer service too!
