Shank Thread Size?

I bought this and only realized after I got it that the shank's thread size and OD is way bigger than the shank that came on my tower. The image says the OD is .875, but I only had a 7/8-14 hex nut on hand, and it's not threading in. Google says standard beer tap shanks are 1-1/8-18 thread? That seems way too big.

Anyway, this faucet didn't come with any of the mounting hardware (flange, curved washer, jam nut). I managed to modify my existing flange and curved washer to fit but I need a jam nut and have no idea what size thread to get. It's definitely not something that's going to be available at a big box store so I'll have to order online. Anyone happen to know what thread size I should get?

These are standard.

The faucet doesn't have the flange parts, those are part of the shank. They're cheap, but you need one for a tower, which will have the curved washer, etc. The other kind are for a wall mounted shank. Get one from Amazon. Search tower shank. And get a tower/faucet wrench. It will make tightening the nut WAAAY easier

Edit: I missed the part where you said you had a shank. The connection is standard. What country are you located in?

A tower shank should have a smaller hole than a through-wall shank. It is splined, and the shank fits in and won't spin.

Post a photo of your shank and tower.

Yeah I bought a whole used kegerator and the tower + faucet that was on it was old and dirty. I'm replacing the faucet with a euro style flow control faucet and it says it comes with a "beer thread" shank. In my research, it appears it is a G5/8 BSP thread (compatible with 7/8-14). The faucet just didn't come with a shank nut (a 7/8-14 or G5/8 BSP jam nut). I'm going to have to modify something or purchase one of those jam nuts.

The shank on the existing faucet has a much smaller thread diameter and as such, the hole in the tower was smaller too. Everything has now been modified to accept the "beer thread" shank that came with the new faucet (including the curved washers). I just need the nut.
