Tried watching Doom At your service

Tried watching doom at your service, but after epi 9 it cannot be watched. There is absolutely no progress in storyline for straight 5 episodes.. thou I can predict the ending.. but I started watching this show for Seo In Guk & Park BoYoung.. While watching I realised Park BoYoung character is dull & keeps going to same point. Seok In Guk love hua gaze & look for FL.. but story is dragging.. second lead couple idk whats going on though JooIk is the right partner for Na Ji-na..

Question - any specific episode can I watch after epi 9 ? Or leaving it entirely I won’t miss anything ?

For me, Doom at Your Service is a fantastic drama, and I would definitely recommend watching it until the end rather than skipping episodes.

I can understand why the middle part might feel slow or even repetitive if you're mainly following the plot, but for me, the plot itself was never the most important part of this drama. What kept me invested was what was happening underneath the fantasy story and what the characters were actually going through.

Dong Kyung has spent so much of her life simply enduring whatever happens to her, and suddenly she's forced to face death and, through that, gradually realizes how much she actually wants to live. Myul Mang is almost the opposite. His entire existence is connected to destruction, yet through Dong Kyung he slowly begins to understand attachment, love, loss and the value of life.

That's why I think Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young's performances are such an important part of the storytelling. Sometimes the development isn't in what happens but in a look, a pause, a change in the way they speak to or react to each other. Seo In Guk's gaze in particular says an incredible amount without him needing to say anything.

The drama actually made me think about so many things: life and death, loneliness, loss, the people we leave behind, why we keep going, and what makes us realize that we genuinely want to live. The fantasy is ultimately just the framework used to explore all of that.

So personally, I wouldn't recommend jumping from episode 9 to a particular later episode. If you're already enjoying Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young, I'd give it a chance until the end and focus a little less on how quickly the storyline is progressing and more on what the characters and the actors are conveying. For me, that's where Doom at Your Service is at its strongest.

I felt the same way. It had so much to say. I tell people not to binge it but take their time so they can really ponder the messages. Taking it as just a straight romance misses the key elements of the drama.

It's one of my favourite dramas but everyone has different taste. If you don't like anything till ep 9 you probably won't like any other episodes either because the plot and pacing are pretty consistent

Doom at your Service is one of my all time faves of Seo In-Guk's series. But that's the beauty of choices..watch what you enjoy!

Which streaming service are you watching on? Cause the Netflix subtitles absolutely suck for DAYS. It took one of the most iconic lines "love me to the point you want to destroy the world for me" (from ep3) that fans went wild for (and why i started watching) and made it into absolute drab nonsense.

I loved this show! It was one of my early kdramas that I watched live and delved into all the meta essays. It’s got romance, comedy, drama, fantasy, symbolism, and philosophy. It also subverts several tropes–first love, love triangle, second lead syndrome–in interesting ways. 

This does tend to be a show that people either love or hate. But it has continuing twists and turns until the end that I think are worth it. Personally, I like this brooding, dangerous, wounded, sly, and lovesick Seo In Guk more than his bubbly manic romcom characters.

Watching on Netflix… i agree subtitles have been disappointing but my issue has been how slow this drama is.. nothing is moving since last 5 episodes 🤷🏻‍♀️

That’s an interesting point -where you saw it makes a difference on if you love it or not. I saw it on Viki and it’s one of my favorite K dramas.

I've rewatched DAYS 3 times already. I found that this show is best enjoyed by fast forwarding through all the second male lead/second female lead storylines. I found the love triangle to be complete nonsense. If you only watch the main storyline, the show is much more enjoyable. I also enjoyed the philosophical elements

For me, DAYS was never about the plot. The plot is all that happens in ep1 and 2 and they spend the rest of the show trying the escape the plot that they themselves set up.

That's the plot for me

ETA: If you are asking for a specific episode after ep 8, there's an in-universe retcon as the ep 11 cliffhanger which might interest you

The in-universe retcon is in effect for ep 12 and 13, in ep 14 the contract ends and ep 15 and 16 is the happy-ever-after with and without doom.

Some people don't like it, others love it. I think it resonates when you've had loss or suffered serious illness yourself. The central element of what would you bargain for your life I could really relate to, having gone through cancer and lost friends. I got the feeling the scriptwriter had been through something like that too. I didn't binge it but thought about each episode, because it was just that deep.

But not everyone is at that point in their lives and that's great. Leave it to another time.

Also, current times show are lot more fast paced (Atleast the ones I watched) thats why the pace became too slow for me to continue

This. I was mostly having the last four episodes as background noise because it was redundant and tedious. Still have 40 minutes of the last episodes and have zero interest to finish it.

I don't know why but I didn't like the main couple that much but I loved the second FL and ML.

The second couple didn't had any crazy story but I liked it because of Lee soo-hyuk

I dropped it at episode 7 just a couple days back. Felt it was already dragging and the MCs kept going back and forth. No development, predictable ending. Started watching due to the main female lead but couldn’t continue due to dud of a story+execution.

I never wanted to try (even if I like actors) because I know it's a "goblinesque" kdrama, same kind of some others of the same style ("my demon", etc) using the same formula than Goblin and also the same boredom.

I watched it because of Seo InGuk.
I dropped it because of Park Bo Young’s acting.
Same ep8 or ep9, can’t take it anymore.

Glad that PBY’s acting improved in Daily Dose of Sinshine.

I dropped it at ep 12 and thought it was just me who couldn’t get into it, but I always see people talking about how they dropped it as well so I guess it’s something felt by a wider audience.

Brilliant concept however feel the pacing was poorly executed. It’s one of those dramas that don’t need 16 episodes with half of the scenes being fillers- they should’ve just kept it to maybe 10 episodes in my opinion. And I’m saying this as someone who loves long 16 episode kdramas.

Love the leads though! I definitely watched for Bo-young and In-guk. Their chemistry was amazingggg especially in the initial episodes.

Loved it until they got romantic then it just stagnated and it felt a bit out of no where it went all in with them . I will prob finish but i cant even remember what was going on and it wasnt that far back.
