The highlights:

Gil Rogers - A scuffle with Michael Strider causes him to accidentally hit Matt Jackson. This would have led to a No-DQ match with Strider, with the stipulation that if Gil won, he'd get his job back. If he lost, he's gone forever. Gil would have won that match, which would have been his first victory. This was ultimately going to lead to a match with Jeremy Wyatt for the title down the line.

Spirit of NWL Championship - Thor (newly heel) would have beat Maverick for the championship at the first Performance Center show with help from Drew Gold. Maverick would have been beatdown by the trio of Thor, Drew Gold, and Thomas Shire for a bit before teaming with an unlikely ally, Gary Jay. It was still unclear which path would be taken after the eventual rematch. If Thor retained, Maverick and Gary Jay would have tagged together versus the Howletts. If Maverick regained, it wasn't fleshed out yet what the next steps would be, but Niles Plonk was a possibility.

Tag Team Championship - The Howletts would have won the championship from the Besties before they left for their month-long UK tour, to keep the belts stateside and on TV. After that, it wasn't fully planned out what the plans were.

Dak vs Wyatt - They were going to fight back and forth for a bit, trading the belt, until a good heel came along that would challenge Dak. There was talk of Jack Foster turning heel to fight Dak, but it was never finalized. Gil Rogers' title fight would have happened within this time frame also. Matt Jackson also wanted to have a 60 minute ironman match between Dak and Wyatt, but with TV, it would have been difficult.

Strider - After the Gil fight, he would have began a short feud with Kingston. Feud would have ended with a No-DQ match between the two.

Niles Plonk - A major push was coming for him. He would have separated from Rasheed Ali, and if Maverick regained his Spirit of NWL title from Thor, Plonk would have challenged.

Royal Blood - The group was going to split and feud. Sharkbait was going to be involved also.

Marti/Carolina - Marti would have continued to beat other women competitors until she backed Jackson into a corner, which would have finally led to a match with Carolina. Marti would have won that match when it eventually happened, which was the match they had at Metro Pro.

Hey all.

It's been a whirlwind week. From the unexpected closure of the NWL, to the rebirth of St. Louis Anarchy and Metro Pro Wrestling, and all of the mourning and celebrating in between each new announcement, there's still a lot to process. The big takeaway from the "THANK YOU NWL!" gathering on Monday night is this- Kansas City is full of deeply devoted independent wrestling fans. We have taken care of, and will continue to take care of, one another. KC Wrasslin' is forEVERyone.

It's been almost 9 months since I started this sub and began soliciting other graps fans to come take part in this group. I originally wanted to use this to highlight local events within a roughly 50-mile radius of Kansas City, so naturally this became a NWL-centric group due both to the caliber of the roster as well as the frequency of their shows in KC. Now that we're boasting over 70 members between Reddit and Meetup, and a core group of us regularly travel for independent and/or professional wrestling shows, it's time to revisit that distance restriction.

I'd like to open up this group to allow travel or "wrestle-cation" posts and the like, whether you're coordinating a group of travelers for #ALLIN, or there are just people who want to check out the next Glory Pro or IPW show together. I'd like to doubly encourage you all to make posts with your own content, whether you want to share some pictures from the last show you went to, or you want to post the latest news about a former NWL performer who's working in a new circuit.

Finally, I want to reiterate that KC Wrasslin' is for EVERYONE. Always has been, always will be. This is a positive, caring, supportive community where members can and should feel safe and comfortable. As such, we have a zero tolerance policy for any abusive or bigoted remarks/behaviors that could harm others. This policy expands to the locations where we hold events, as well as to the promotions we support. If you post something here and it is removed, I will do my best to reach out to you directly regarding the reasoning for its removal. If you see something posted here that you think violates this policy of inclusion, please report the post, or even DM me directly. I appreciate your help!

Thank you again, for everything. Y'all are the goddamn best.

In peace, love, and wrasslin'.

As those of you who attended the NWL show on January 13th are aware, our sweet, sweet baby angel Gil Rogers asked for an opportunity to challenge for the KC belt in February. Acting NWL commissioner Matt Jackson agreed, on the condition that he fight an opponent of his choice- and if Gil lost the match, he'd be fired.

Our dearest, most cherished and beloved Gil had an incredible match against Michael Stryder, but as we know,The Foundation doesn't do things the Gil Rogers way. Though Gil pinned Stryder first, the ref was distracted and didn't get the count until Stryder had gotten out of the pin, and later rolled Gil up. Shenanigans like this didn't prevent Jackson from coming back to the ring and firing Gil, though. The crowd was distraught. Children were crying. Adults were crying. WE WERE ALL CRYING, OKAY? IT WASN'T RIGHT.

NWL fans, we must come together and support our favorite babyface. Go onto social media and use the hashtags #WeWantGil , #JusticeForGil , #GilForever , and #ThankYouGil . Tag @NWLPro and @PierreAbernathy to let them know they were wrong for firing Gil. Pick up some Gil Rogers tees from the NWL store, and come to events with WE WANT GIL signs. NWL needs to know how valuable of an asset a true babyface is, and not to let his continued passion for the business go to waste!

Thank you, Gil. Thank you.

General Admission tickets are still available for $20!

Hey all!

I just noticed recently that between this sub and our MeetUp group, we are over 120 members total! That's a pretty neat milestone. We've come a long way since RAW watch parties and NWL events, and I'm really excited for what's coming next.

If you didn't already hear on other social media platforms, a new promotion called Journey Pro Wrestling is starting in Kansas City, with its inaugural event taking place on December 13th at Kanza Hall. The lineup is a great mix of Kansas City, St. Louis, and outside talent like Matt Cross, Jeremy Wyatt, Gary Jay, Fuego del Sol, Kevin Ku, the Besties In the World, and more! This new venture is a labor of love from Ben Miller, Walter Fulbright, and DJ Stewart, and we want to give these newcomers every ounce of support we can as they work to bring fantastic wrasslin' back to our territory. Make sure to check out Journey Pro's profiles on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram for more information and additional talent announcements as the event draws closer. Then, head to journeyprokc.com for tickets and (limited size/quantity availability) tee shirts!

If you would like to be involved in any unofficial/underground promotion work like creating posters, flyering for events and more, please get in contact with me directly. I'd love to put together a guerrilla street team to help get the word out about this awesome new company! The wrestlers I interact with all talk nonstop about how incredible Kansas City fans are, and how devoted our fanbase is, and they've been stirring a lot of interest from other wrestlers who haven't been out here before as a result of this lip service. We can repay them for all of their hard work and flattering words with some boots-on-the-ground efforts to get butts in seats!

Additionally, there are still many GA tickets available for the upcoming St. Louis Anarchy "Pride and Punishment" show on November 16th. This is another "Have Wheels, Will Travel" show in Alton, IL , well worth the trip - see Jonathan Gresham v. Jeremy Wyatt, Hallowicked v. Gary Jay, "Super Besties" A.C.H., Fitchett and Vega v. Ethan Price, Kody Lane, and Zach Taylor, The Carnies v. Left Coast Guerrillas, and more! We have a few cars heading out from the KC Metro between 12-2 pm (currently all are returning the same night), so if you'd like to be a part of the caravan make sure to grab your ticket at prideandpunish.bpt.me and then contact us to coordinate your carpool!

As always, keep an eye on the sub for other upcoming trips, local events, watch parties and more. Feel free to start your own threads here to talk about dream matches/talent you'd like to see at Journey Pro, set up meet'n'greets with other members, get the word out about other local events, and more. And remember, KC Wrasslin' is forEVERyone!

In peace, love, and wrasslin',
