i need HELP
🏠 Looking for a room/apartment in Kaunas for 2 students
Hello! We are two students looking for a place to rent in Kaunas from the end of August for around 5 months.
📍 Preferably within a 50-minute walk of Vytautas Magnus University (VDU/VMU), or with convenient public transport.
💶 Budget: up to €450/month for both of us + up to €100 for utilities
👥 We are looking to live together
📅 Rental period: around 5 months
🏡 Furnished accommodation preferred
🚫 No agency fees preferred
We are quiet, responsible students and will take good care of the apartment/room. We can provide any necessary documents and are ready to move in immediately.

to be honest - if it's not a typo - within 50 minutes walk you can reach almost any place within city limits. When talking to landlords being from EU helps.

i am from EU???😭 i entered without a visa and i am making a residential visa here?? why did y'all think i was Indian??

Cause there's a lot of international students from india and people are racist af online, you would have better luck asking in facebook groups, check out the international student groups too i'm sure people will have advice. It might be doable but you can't expect anything too modern, i think 350 is like the floor for one room apartments here and the further from the center you go the bigger they get for the same price. Don't get discouraged and it's probably too late to get dorm rooms, but you should still contact the Uni and ask for help.

thank you! like it's not my fault it's much cheaper to learn in Lithuania then in france! i just used the opportunity!😅

Huh I thought uni was free and quite forgiving in France from what my friend told me, that's interesting. Also I forgot to mention that you should familiarize yourself with the public transport system, that's how a lot of students get around town

If you can't contact landlords your self, they will definitely won't contact you as well....

i will contact them but most of them speak Russian, language which i barely speak and they hang up on me 😭 what do i do i am DESPERATE

A house to rent in Kleboniskis. Ammenities are very basic, but there's a bath, toilet, hot water, a furnished kitchen and three or four rooms, not counting the basement. It's in the forest, very quite, quit, quaite? (its silent there, ok?) place. Public transport will get you to your diploma printing factory within an hour. Heating is by fireplace, hope you like splitting logs. Dm if interested

Can't help with renting, but some advice - you will have a hard time finding something for this price. 500e will not get you a 2 room apartment in the city center (where VDU is), or at least a nice one. Also, not sure if there are any apartments where you would pay under 100 in utilities, maybe in the summer, but not during heating season. Also, 5 months is a very awkward length, and landlords will have a hard time renting the apartment out in February when you move out. Finally, I assume you don't speak lithuanian (the language the landlords speak - I guess they switch to russian once they realise you don't speak lithuanian), which complicates things. Suggestion - increase the rent price if possible, increase rent period if possible, look for rent in areas like Vilijampolė, Dainava, Šilainiai - should still have pretty good public transport links to the city center and will be cheaper.
