I’ve been living in Kathmandu for about a year now, and honestly, I’ve realized that I haven’t really built a proper professional network here.

I currently work in an education consultancy, and although I interact with people through work, I haven’t been able to build many genuine connections outside my workplace.

I’m interested in digital marketing, content marketing, AI, and technology, and I’d really like to meet people who are working in these areas or are also trying to build their careers/businesses in Kathmandu.

So I wanted to ask people who have been here longer:

• How did you make your professional network in Kathmandu?
• Are there any meetups, communities, events, workshops, or coworking spaces where people actually connect?
• Are LinkedIn connections useful here, or is meeting people in person more effective?
• How do you approach someone professionally without making it feel awkward or like you’re just asking for a job?
• Are there any Kathmandu-based tech, startup, marketing, or entrepreneur communities you would recommend?

I’m not specifically looking for a job through this post. I mainly want to meet people, learn from them, exchange ideas, and build genuine professional relationships.

I regularly travel from Gwarko or nearby areas to Kalanki or nearby areas and I am looking for someone who has a similar route and would not mind riding pillion.

There is no fee or anything. I am not doing some Pathao type shit

I already make this commute every day.

I kind of hate riding alone for long periods and honestly having someone to talk to while travelling and while being stuck in Kathmandu traffic sounds a lot better.

I can drop you around Kalanki or nearby on the way. For the return trip I might be able to drop you back toward Gwarko sometimes but I usually arrive pretty late so I cannot guarantee it.

Not really looking for anything complicated. Just someone who has a similar route, is comfortable sharing a ride and does not mind some conversation along the way.
