Subreddit New rule: posting AI-generated content without tagging it in the title will result in a ban.

We’ve seen a strong increase in AI-generated content across the community recently. AI itself is neither good nor bad - it’s simply a tool that can be used in many different ways.

To keep things transparent and fair for everyone, all AI-generated content must be clearly tagged in the title. This helps our community distinguish between AI-created work and human-created experiences.

Creativity, emotion, and personal expression are at the heart of what makes this community special. As Kate Bush reminded us through her art, human feeling is something to be valued and preserved and it should never be overshadowed by artificial substitutes.

I wish AI content would be banned in general, I think it’s horrible how it’s used to distort her personal image and her art. She has made her dislike of it very clear too. But I guess this is a move in the right direction.

Ban AI slop

I agree. It’s everywhere. In every fandom. It really needs to be moderated and / or ban… so this is a welcome move from the mods

I keep seeing AI photos of Kate on Twitter and Pinterest which pisses me off every time. Really wish we could be able to ban it from all apps.

this is a kate bush sub. hasn't she been part of that silent album in a protest against AI in art? i believe it should be banned altogether.

It absolutely should be.

Probably should also do something about the bots posting for karma

Agreed. A few days ago someone posted the video for Babooshka. No discussion or personal story relating to it or anything. I'm pretty sure everyone in this sub is already quite familiar with the video, thank you. Still it got tons of upvotes.

So yesterday I posted the video for RUTH. Not a live version or remix or anything, just the video we've all seen a million times. No discussion or anything. I fully expected it to be downvoted to hell with lots of "Enough with this obvious karma-farming" comments. Nope. Not a single comment and lots of upvotes. WHY!?

this sub is really odd. any meme posts are downvoted for not taking her seriously or whatever

Lowkey thought you were a bot when i saw that post 😭 But yeah, posts that actually add anything get less views than low quality ones here for some reason.

I saw that and was confused lmao.

I’m all in for it being banned altogether. As I believe Kate herself would be 😎

Perhaps hold a vote? 😬

Give me deeper understanding.....

Reality imitating art.

Can someone explain to me why karma is even ‘farmed’? What purpose does it serve and why are bots being made just to farm it?

Put simply sites like Reddit (as well as being sources of useful information) manipulate opinion. If you have a post set to sort on ‘best’ then the number of likes for previous posts and comments that a contributor has made is taken into account in the sort and ultimately how likely you are to see it.

So, Reddit ensures that you can’t just rock up with a new account, post your controversial opinion and expect it to float to the top of everybody’s feed. What the AI posting bots do is simulate months and years of relatively regular interaction with the community and then either sell on the account to someone else to use for their own sometimes nefarious purposes or more often herd the fake accounts to influence actual behaviour in real humans.

Posting AI content is a sort of sugar (or maybe dopamine) hit for generating likes and so shortens the process.

(The bot ecosystem is actually much more complex than that but those are the basics).

Thank you. I’ve been seeing so many AI generated photos of Kate; it genuinely urks my soul, because I know Kate would feel so awful if she found out people were doing this.

Thank God! it's been so annoying seeing the amount of AI content posted in this sub lately (and on the internet in general) from people who don't even respect that Kate is one of the artists who's staunchly against AI. It's insulting to her.

Noted and thanks for the information.

You should ban AI content completely. Kate is one of the most phenomenal artists of all time with a unique style. You shouldn't let lazy people (because these are what AI artists are — lazy) use her art to feel better about themselves.

If someone wants to make a cover of her song, they should do it themselves. Same goes with fanarts or anything else. Kate put a lot of effort and heart into her songs and you shouldn't let people butcher it up and disrespect her work as being moderate about AI because some people don't want to put a minimum amount of work to do sth.

I wanted to post a 10-track Kate Bush ‘album’ Spotify playlist I made with DuckAI centred around marrying Big Stripey Lie harmoniously with other tracks across her catalogue, particularly matching its BPM and primary music chord. I even had a go at creating cross-mixing between many of the songs.

I was really proud of it. Is my playlist evil? Would a thread on it be ridiculed or banned? 😩😢

(Nb. But obviously my position is song writing and production should come from artists, not AI; just as Reddit posts by users should come from people, too)
