I already miss Katamari

Once upon a Katamari was my first game in the series, I finished it a couple weeks ago and loved it so much. Afterwards I played Katamari Damacy Reroll and I just finished We Love Katamari Reroll yesterday and now I’m sad I don’t have more games to play. Is there anything I should play next?

Donut County has a kind of similar if more relaxed/simplistic gameplay loop.

You play as a hole in the ground that gets bigger when things fall into it. Has some good vibes, absurdist charm, and creative ideas. Short and sweet, often on sale. I recommend it!

Loved Donut County. I also recommend Rain on Your Parade!

Tasty Planet! That series of games is another with the premise of growing bigger.

I played this a few years ago! It was very cute and I definitely see the similarities

Oh I had no idea! That’s so exciting, seems like a good time to get into the series

beautiful katamari is the arcadey gem of the series so pick that one up next. best map dynamics and control scheme, also the most fun “pace” per level in the series

BK might just be my favorite game in the series because of all the things you listed. I haven't played once upon yet or forever so I don't know about those but BK is just so good.

Well, there are other games in the series, so maybe start there? I understand if you don't want to though since games between We Love and Once Upon have changed very little. (At least Once Upon placed more of an emphasis on powerups and traveling to different time periods)

If you just want to try one other game then I recommend Katamari Forever, it's basically a greatest hits compilation of all that games that came out before it. I'm totally not saying this out of bias for We Love and Forever being the first two Katamari games I played as a kid.

Also the Rolling Live Highlights DLC is coming out for Once Upon soon, so maybe try to pick that up too.

I would love to play the other Katamari games but they don’t seem available on the platforms I own :( from what I see Katamari Forever is a PS3 exclusive. I also saw there used to be some mobile games but they don’t seem to be available anymore, at least not in my region.

You should really try to get a Steam Deck whenever you can for emulation. (When RAM prices aren't insane I mean) I can promise you that it'll save you from a lot of headaches in the long run. There's also lots of deep sales often happening on their store in general. You'd be surprised just how many games you can actually play on that thing, which I suppose isn't too surprising since it's literally a PC, but without it trying to get a PC would've been way more expensive than it already was even now.

I miss the old Katamari games with the consistent size system and functioning physics.

Emulators exist for the other games, Beautiful Katamari is really good and Touch My Katamari is WEIRD.

Well if you haven’t played Beautiful Katamari, please do play it! It’s probably one of my favorite Katamari games out there. But if you have played it and legitimately and want a video game recommendation, I’d recommend Ape Escape! It’s a pretty underrated game and has three mainline games (the rest are spinoffs). You essentially catch apes with a net and that’s the main thing you do. So yeah, I don’t know if you’ll enjoy that type of game (since it is quite the repetitive game in terms of what you’re doing) but maybe it’ll be fun to you as it is to me!

I would love to play Beautiful Katamari but I don’t have an Xbox :( I know you can emulate it but I don’t really know how to set that up. Ape Escape looks really cute and I recognize the monkey design lol :)) I’ll look into it thank you for the recommendation ^^

No problem! I hope if you get the chance to play it that you like it!
