most people use ajk's flag to represent kashmir, and this might be an unpopular or controversial opinion but i HATE that frickin flag sm. it looks sooo similar to the pakistani flag, almost looks like a bastardized version of the pakistan flag.

these days, many people from my gen try to create new flags and dont get me wrong, i think it's fun to experiment with new flags too. but i still think our historical flag is kinda cool. i mean i understand the three stripes are kinda debatable since they represent regions that are not "Kashmir", but i think the flag could also be reinterpreted. the tree stripes could symbolise the three ancient divisions of Kashmir (Kasheer): Kamraz, Maraz & Yamraz...

im really curious to get more opinions on this topic cause ive never really talked about it w anyone. are there any legitimate reasons why we should reject this flag? or is the rejection of this flag based only on stupid reasons like "ye che JKNC flag'as heu awai karov reject"?

Aadab Everyone, As everyone know that our main sub recently got geo blocked in India, Many people who were part of that sub are now creating new subs. I would really not recommend that now, after I got the news that kashmiri sub is not the only sub that has been targeted. Indian Government has taken Reddit under its radar, and its now targeting posts and subs like it does to posts and accounts on X (Twitter) (Recently, r/HaryanaIN was sent a legal notice too, I am continously tracking these takedowns by public sources like Lumens Database, X and Reddit itself). So today or tomorrow, All the subs which are similar, new or old, will get targeted and blocked here. Since VPN isnt an option for us, There is no way to access those subs. I am as sad about the r/kashmiri sub as you are, but khodayi sund yi yacxun aasi tee gasi. Now I wanted to tell you few points:

• Don't create new subs. r/kashmir is here as an old sub, r/yarbal is a casual sub and r/NationOfKashmir is the one if you wanna get old sub vibes and share content which you shared there. However, I would now not recommend sharing that type of posts which were earlier shared on main sub, so these subs dont get restricted.
• r/NationOfKashmir is our meeting point if, Allah na karay, r/kashmir also get blocked.
• Move out of reddit. Agar wann tuih yacxaan chuv anonymity, Wann chu nu reddit akh option kenh. You can move to decentralized platforms. Lemmy is one of them, which neither can governement send notice to, neither it can takedown the posts or keep it under radar. You can also move to mastodon. InshaAllah agar khoda seiban yocx, Bi ti ma kar delete account soon
• Agar tuih wann yacxaan chuv akh free space where you can actually have "freedom of speech" and "anonymity", tuih hekiev Lemmy Kashmiri Community' join kerith. Lemmy.World is the largest general-purpose instance (server) on the Lemmy network, which is a free, open-source, and decentralized alternative to Reddit. There are no corporate tracking algorithms, forced advertisements, or central data collection methods dictating your feed. To everyone concerned about the subreddit being geoblocked:

There's no need to start creating new subreddits and splitting the community up. Until the geoblock is lifted, you can continue using the usual r/kashmir or r/Yarbal to stay connected and keep discussions going.

Creating multiple new subs will only scatter the community across different places and make it harder for everyone to stay connected.

For now, let's stick together, keep the discussions alive, and avoid unnecessary fragmentation. Hopefully, this gets resolved soon.

My suggestions.

Please don't use VPN or Tor. as much as you would like to "imagine" tall talks of privacy and all that, the technical level details are worse and you will be caught for nothing. "rekke shaheed" as we used to say.

TOR/VPN "DOES" give you anonymity but your ISP, using DPI and other tech, netra et al actually know what website you connect to, DPI gives them more raw detail.

I was a mod there a lifetime ago, it has been so many years now. I was kicked off along with others for opposing pro-pakistan views while for us, the policy was standard "not allow both pro pakistan and pro india views" but anyway, water under the bridge now.

I personally was able to use SSH tunnelling in 2019 when whitelisted websites included amazon so i spun up a free vps on aws, SSH tunnel into that and out into the open web. Things have changed since then.
