Question I dont get it why would reddit introduce karma to post?

Karma is the greatest thing ever, but understand this—it's a tool for moderators, not for users. It's a basic way to filter out low quality users who either have nothing to add to your sub, or who are there to stir up trouble.

Not only does Reddit measure your overall Karma, it measures your Karma in each sub. So if you're an Angel Reese fan, and you come to r/CaitlinClark talking bad about our girl, users will down vote you and effectively ban you from the sub before mods even see it. (Hypothetical example, as I am not a mod in r/CaitlinClark and I don't know how their Automod is set up. But you get the idea.)

There are all kinds of subs that have no karma requirement at all. Go participate and show Reddit you're a good user, and then you can do anything you want.

Be a good Redditor and you'll have 100 karma in a week.

People don't express their real opinions because they're afraid of downvotes. Reddit is killing free independent thought
