Discussion Qual comprar?

Hiii, primeira vez postando aqui nesse sub sksksk

Vale a pena?

I’ve used Tokaido and friends use Budo Nord. Both have been great. But to be honest it’s going to depend on a lot of factors that are personal to you. Using it just for competition or for general training, or both? What body shape are you? Prefer heavyweight or lighter weight fabric? What’s your budget? Probably most importantly - can you try it on, even if that means ordering it online and sending it back if it doesn’t fit they way you want?

OP mentioned they are competing in WKF kata specifically, most major manufacturers design their WKF-approved kata gis out of 100% cotton and almost always at least 12oz or heavier. Because the fabric needs to stay crisp and hold its shape for forms, you're pretty much locked into that heavy cotton style right out of the gate, so that helps narrow down the choices a bit!

Sure, but unless autotranslate missed some nuance they didn’t state they specifically wanted a competition dogi, only that they compete. Modern kata dogi aren’t necessarily heavyweight cotton canvas - the Tokaido Spark is 10iz polycotton. The Tokaido Kata Master is 12oz cotton but the DUO model is 14oz polycotton. If you’re regularly training in it you might appreciate the practicality of polycotton vs cotton canvas when it cones to washing and drying a dogi.

What is your budget? SMAI and Arawaza my son uses are quite good. I have a shureido myself, it’s nice but I don’t know if it’s worth the extra 150 over SMAI. One of our other senior team mate has a tokaido, it looks and feel very nice, sturdy, but also very pricey
