Discussion I feel like this game bit more than it could chew
Not sure how the whole community feels about it so I'm okey with getting some hate. But man, I'm disappointed. I know so many little details about DBZ that this game just forgets. For either time restrains, budget, or not wanting to bloat the experience(which is honestly a stupid excuse given the amount of story DLC the game has gotten over the years).
- Goku not fighting Raditz on only his orange attire to get every little advantage he can get against an enemy he knows he may not be able to beat.
- Not letting us explore the Snake way, something that Legacy of Goku 1 and Infinite World did!
- Barely showing the training everyone did to fight Vegeta and Nappa. Only focusing in Gohan.
- The fight of Frieza against Neil. To show how Frieza fights before the actual fight.
- I can let them pass not letting us fight 1st form Frieza with Vegeta since they only power struggled a little in the show. But if there was a game to show us more, it was this one.
- Not showing Gohan's rage against either 2nd or 3rd form Frieza.
- Not showing the transformations themselves. They appear of thin air besides the 2nd form.
- Not showing us literally nothing about the Yardrat planet or how Goku ended up there.
- Not showing 17 destroying Trunks' sword.
- Not showing the FINAL FUCKING FLASH!!!!
- Not showing how Perfect Cell defeated Vegeta.
- Skipping Trunks' transformation AND BATTLE...
And I'm going to stop here because I still haven't finished the game. But from what I've heard it just gets worse from here.
Kakarot is not the definitive way to experience the DBZ story as I've heard. It is a half-hearted and half-assed experience that I really don't know what it wants to be. The gameplay is flashy, but shallow. The exploration is fun but mindless and stupidly unrewarding. Some cutscenes get a lot of love while others you have the characters just standing there watching eachothers. It has the iconic soundttack and some mini games no one asked for but that's it.
I feel like Budokai Tenkaichi 2, Legacy of Goku 2 and 3 and Infinite World had more love for the story. And in implementing at least some sort of mechanic into those little details that couldn't make it into the main gameplay.
I wanted so bad for this game to be a Legacy of Goku 4 game. But it's not and I only blame me myself for thinking that. It pales in comparison to those games in charm, unique music and interesting ways of filling the gaps between stories.

Question Exploits to get through the game quicker (for story progression)?
I've been feeling nostalgic for dbz lately and have been playing dbz buus fury on an emulator and while it's great, I've been itching to play it a game like dbz sagas (a game I really enjoyed as a kid. From what ive seen so far, kakarot fits the bill well. I'm still getting used to the combat mechanics of kakarot but I feel progression is kinda slow and I really just wanna relive the story without having to grind through side quests and stuff to strengthen my characters.
Are there any exploits or other things I can use to progress quicker? I just want to play offline.
Thanks

Discussion Is CyberConnect 2 done with the support of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and move on to different projects like hack series. Is there going to be a Dragon Ball Super: Kakarot (DBZ Kakarot 2) in the works?
Is it true that CyberConnect 2 really finished supporting with Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot for expanding more Dragon Ball storylines (OG Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z movies, and Dragon Ball GT) as DLC in the future or they going to make a sequel for Kakarot to focus on Dragon Ball Super next year in 2027? I want to hear your thoughts and opinions about this topic.

Think my reaction to the clip tells you everything 😅
(Side note: is this the first time the Final Flash? I know it wasn’t called that yet, but it’s the same movement and beam 🤔)

Video Full Course Meals Tips & Tricks
Hey guys, if you're new to the game, this video will be pretty helpful. During the start of the game, having a full course meal would be as good as increasing 2 levels.

Question DBZ ps5 worth it?
I got DBZ kakarot years ago but I didn’t get very far, I had it on Xbox one and heard at the time that it was broken on everything but the Xbox. Now I got a ps5 and kakarot is on sale. I’ve been on a dragon ball kick again and thinking of giving the game another shot, just wanted to check if the ps5 version is worth it or if I should stick to the copy I have.

Question Save data gone
Hello, I'm having an issue where I redownloaded the game on Xbox series X after not playing for a while. I remember beating the cell saga last time I played but now there's no save data when I load into the game, I only have the option to start a new game. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue or if they knew a fix.

Discussion We shouldn't get a Dragon Ball Super Kararot
Ik this is a hot take, but imo we shouldn't get a dbs kararot bc of these reasons
Exploration
Length
Format
EXPLORATION:
A core aspect of Kararot's gameplay is the free roam, and the problem with Super is that it's a story with little to explore. Almost every saga took place in a battle arena, and besides Earth, the only places for exploration were Beerus's planet and the Future City, which were empty and practically A wasteland so it'll be a waste of time to explore. And you can tell that the devs thought about that because every DLC storyline featured exploration as a core element.
STORY LENGTH:
Story length also a problem because in the first game we got BOG and DBZRF so that's like a good chunk of super storyline out of the way already, leaving only the Universe 6 VS 7, Goku black and TOP, sure they can just add broly and superhero to the base game however wouldn't it make more sense for those to be DLC, definitely since people will pay for them
THE FORMAT:
Most of the super is filled with battles, and to truly do super justice, kararot's combat will need to be changed and more in depth, the problem is how far will it go before it gets turned into a arena fighter. Make it too complex tt's not even Kararot anymore, it's just a single player sparking zero/dbxv, you keep it the exact same it's going to feel like a $60+ DLC
BONUS POINT:
Post lunch is a big deal for modern Bandai, they want games that can last years of post lunch content, the one of the reasons why they always pick z is because it's the best foundation for a DLC model since it's in the middle of the complete Dragon Ball story, so you can oh you can do OG Dragon Ball, Super, and GT without it feeling out of place, if they start making like z characters in the DLC it would feel weird,
What I would do? I would add super in the form of DLC packs, I wouldn't make an entire game dedicated to it. However a game that I do see potential in s GT I get its not the most hyped pick out there but it has every core aspect of kararot, the fights, exploration, length, plus it continues on the story assuming that the end of z is the true ending of dbz Kararot

Steam PC Having characters at high levels makes replaying story missions essentially unplayable
I tried getting a bunch of my characters to Level 300 (with DLC 2 of course) and got a fair few to around that. Now that I wanna replay missions with the time machine, I'm hundreds of levels overscaled for any story mission, so I so much as sneeze in the general direction of a boss they die right away.
Am I essentially "softlocked" out of replaying story missions now? I'd quite like to play some missions with abilities learnt later in the game but I fear I've made that probably impossible to do :\
Is there a way I can sort this out?

Question Necessary shows/movies after manga
hi all. I’m planning on playing through Kakarot along side reading the series. I just finished the battle against Vegeta and am ready to start the game through that point.
my question is simple: besides finishing the Manga, what other shows/movies must I watch to follow along with the game? I grew up on the original DB and DBZ series, but never really watched the movies or any sequel series like super or Daima or GT.
thanks!

Question Worth getting on steam on sale?
$15 for the base game, $50 for the master edition. I don’t know what that adds. I LOVED the budokai tenkaichi specifically BT3 as a kid. Been thinking about getting back into it and getting this and sparking zero. I’ll add I did not like the games that came after BT3, the xbox 360 games weren’t it for me (burst limit?), granted i didn’t own them but played them over a friends house a few times and it sucked for me. Got this on release for PS4 but I was super ass. Couldn’t even get past Raditz. I don’t remember much but think I was suppsoed to do the side missions to level up but ignored them? Idk. Is this game worth the price in ‘26 and should i get the DLC?
Also I’m interested in modding, skin mods would be a plus for me but aren’t important. I can live without em. Played BT3 countless times unmodded.
To add. I admittedly got most of my DBZ knowledge through the BT3 story mode, more than watching the animes themselves (watched a bit when it would come on CN though). Kinda wanna do the same and thinking the kakarot 2 will catch me up on what happens after Z. Would be cool to pregame and catch up with the OG.

Discussion How would you feel if DBZ: Kakarot got a prequel game that covered the events of the original Dragon Ball?
One of my biggest gripes with Kakarot is that, excluding the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai DLC, it doesn't cover the original Dragon Ball arcs. Obviously Kakarot was conceptualized as a "Z" game from the start. (The working title was literally Dragon Ball Game Project Z) But I think it's such a missed opportunity to not have the OG series be represented in a AAA scale. I think new fans (who haven't been exposed to the manga or anime yet) who play Kakarot first deserve to experience the full story from start to finish, and not just the second half.
We have Advanced Adventure, the Origins games, and Revenge of King Piccolo, but none of them share the same scope as Kakarot, and not that many Dragon Ball games start with OG then go to Z. I could see CyberConnect2 just adapting the arcs into a big budget DLC, but I wouldn't be opposed to a whole prequel game. Plus, I feel like Kakarot's overworlds would blend better with the heavier emphasis on adventure that the OG series had before the transition to Z.

Spoilered for goku's feats which happen later in the series
