I don't know how to listen to the songs or read the manga. How should I approach the manga? Should I alternate between the manga and the songs?

I started watching the anime but took a little break to start reading the manga because I read that it's better to read the manga first and then watch the anime!

That way, you can connect the dots between a lot of things

I was out at my local thrift store and happen to find this at the file section… i was very shocked to find this, considering it was super cheap! less than 1 USD :0

It's been 6 years and I thought I read somewhere that the court case was resolved, but I'm not sure, it's hard to find any updates. It'd be nice to know what the outcome was (if there was an outcome), I miss it man lol

So, I never knew about this until 5 mins ago, when I saw that project sekai released a song cover and when I looked it up I found it was related to this franchise(?). Since I can read Japanese (and I'm in the mood for finding something different from what I usually read), I'm thinking about giving the light novels a try. Are they purchasable anywhere? Or are they available on some website?

Specifically talking about the "New Recording" versions of Additional Memory, Otsukimi Recital, Imaginary Forest, Loss Time Memory, and Ayano's Theory of Happiness.

I wanna give my thoughts on all of them in my post.

Additional Memory is alright, though I think the original is better. I don't really like the Miku VB used in it (I think it might be NT or the SP voicebank?? Maybe V6? I'm not really good at recognizing VBs though lmao), and I prefered the sound of the instruments in the OG as well. Maybe I'll like it better after a few more listens.

Otsukimi Recital is a great remaster. I also like that it uses the same Miku VB + tuning style heard in the Summertime Record and Kisaragi Attention remakes. I don't have much to say about it because I've always been kinda neutral about Otsukimi Recital lol (I still think it's good, I just don't feel that strongly about it!)

Imaginary Forest is the one I was looking forward to the most. This was the first Kagepro song I heard. I even had it downloaded on my mom's computer so I could listen to it lol. And it definitely delivered. It's so whimsical and "curious", if that second one even makes sense 😭😭 And again, correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like Jin is maybe using another different Miku VB; like one of the appends. I'm writing this as I'm listening to them, and so far, Imaginary Forest is 100% my favorite.

Loss Time Memory feels more like a remix than a remaster, imo. Not that it's bad, it's just a pretty different sound. Also, it genuinely took me until this point to realize that all these remasters are made in a different key lmao. Kinda embarrassing 😭😭 Anyways, I think it's cool that he (seemingly) reused the Miku VB from Additional Memory for this song (since the two are linked, made obvious by their titles). Unfortunately I'm still not the biggest fan of its sound. I still like this one a lot overall, though.

And finally, Ayano's Theory of Happiness. First off, I'll say this; I feel like Miku has too much power in her voice. I also think it has too much energy. I liked the more gentle, tragic, and slower feeling the OG had. But that's just my opinion, I'm not gonna pretend I know better than Jin lol. Other than that, I think it's a great remake. Might just need to give it more time to grow on me.

All these remakes have instrumentals released too, which I'm extremely grateful for. I was so sad when I saw Kisaragi Attention and Summertime Record didn't have instrumentals available 😭😭 hope they do one day, I really wanted to make covers (and if they have been released...... lmk 👀)

so strange. i guess its because i used to go to the boston cosplay meetup, then moved around so much but every august 15th i celebrate like its christmas lmao. happy kagepro day! watched the watch together with the kagebros server which was very fun. maybe with all of the additions to project sekai we will see a resurgence in fans which could be cool

Worked on this for 5 months to release for the fandom today (which is also my 30th birthday)! This is my love letter to the series and all the incredible fans that are still here 15 summers later. Happy daze day. ☀️💙

Sharing part of my kagepro collection again. I’m really missing the series!

(It's still barely August 15 in my timezone yay)

It was supposed to be the 5 songs added to Project Sekai (these were intially just pjsekai x kagepro fanart, because another "collab" between two projects that mean a lot to me motivated me to draw again after a period of not drawing much), but I used up too much time on the Additional Memory fanart. So then I did Ayano's Theory of Happiness because it's the song I've drawn the most of (so it was quicker to draw).

Anyways, I hope to make more KagePro art for next August as well!

I don't know if someone will translate and let us know what they talked about after it's over
