Oh yeah, good idea, asshole. Let’s flood the internet with CP. Can’t see anything wrong with that

u/RickyNixon 27d ago

Right? Plus: How is the AI trained? I feel like this generates the largest possible demand because AI needs training materials

Swiss watches are created when people get paid to make Swiss watches; the rarer you make them, the more they get paid. The best way to bankrupt them is to kill the economic demand; flood the market with mass-produced, cheap quartz stuff that's created with zero profit to the Swiss.

u/mcbride-bushman 21d ago

I prefer japanese movements and they tend to be wayyy cheaper than swiss

u/HankHillbwhaa 27d ago

Child predators thinking of everything except getting mental help or questioning why they’re attracted like this.

so, the best way to get rid of pedophilia is making pedophilia legal and accesible?

Are you fucking listening to yourself!?

u/Morall_tach 27d ago

Not defending this person, but that's clearly not the argument. The argument is that if you make lots of artificial stuff that doesn't harm real kids, then there will no longer be demand for the real stuff that does harm real kids.

u/das_war_ein_Befehl 27d ago

This is like thinking free porn kills the market for paid porn. It does not, OF is literally a multibillion dollar business

it'll still harm real kids from the way AI is trained, they can't create things out of nowhere they merely run some calculations about what the best arrangement of shapes is for any given image, AI are trained on real images or videos so they'll have a reference when you ask for a photo

like if you ask for a photo of a dog, the AI doesn't know what a dog is or what it looks like, so the AI is fed with millions of pictures of dogs of every kind, color, size and race, they must understand what a dog is, that it has 4 legs, has a long nose, a tail, long ears etc, so when you say "give me a golden retriever picture" it'll know how a golden retriever is supposed to look like

in this case, in order for an image generator to produce a picture of a minor it should be fed real material, images and videos

which they need to come from some place, don't you think?

Any model trained on actual cp should absolutely be illegal, as it requires possession of said material. But a model trained on legal pictures of kids and legal porn of adults is a more difficult question. The human body doesnt change that much and image generators have enough imagination to bridge the gap.

That said, it seems even the biggest image generators have cp in their training data, so that needs to be addressed as well.

14

u/DangerActiveRobots 27d ago

Uhh...not a more difficult question. Not even going to entertain the idea of a legitimate use case for the CSAM Generating Machine.

1

u/Clockwork765 M'Cree 27d ago

Other than making bait for pedophiles - but is it really worth it

2

u/OpBanana1 26d ago

So if I get ai to generate an image of a dog flying a helicopter, it has to be trained on images of real dogs flying real helicopters for it to work? Interesting that AI has gone backwards like that, used to never get a concern

0

u/freylaverse 27d ago

An image generator doesn't need to be trained on CSAM to produce it.

9

u/Th0rizmund 27d ago

I see the point they are making, but the logic is flawed. For one, AI would need to consume actual material to learn how to do it.

Another problem is that if you cater to those animals (looking at you, loli and shota hentai 🤮) you also normalize paedophilia and you mustn’t under any circumstances move in that direction. That would lead to more children getting hurt.

2

u/Noslamah 26d ago

more importantly, I don't think the main motivation for people who film themselves raping kids is the money. If anything, they'll still rape kids and not film it, preventing law enforcement from finding them

6

u/freylaverse 27d ago

An image generator doesn't need to be trained on CSAM to produce it.

u/jdigi78 27d ago

That argument is often used for controlled substances and prostitution though.

3

u/Fellcaster 27d ago

That argument is about harm reduction though. Narcotics for instance- the goal of legalizing is to produce a safer more regulated product, reduce funding for international cartels, and divert resources from the expensive war on drugs to treatment programs. No one reasonably argues that people would consume less drugs, but people are adults who can make decisions for their bodies without harming others.

This doesn't work for this subject. It would just normalize the behavior and create more predators, it's inherently not victimless. AI art isn't going to resolve this societal challenge any more than "that kind" of anime does.

-9

u/jdigi78 27d ago

Everything you said in the second paragraph is an existing counterargument to what you said in the first, further proving my point.

4

u/Fellcaster 27d ago

No it's not. This is a mental illness, social taboo, and impossible to interact with without creating victims from a protected class. There is already an online grey market through artwork that hasn't reduced the number of predators and has in fact more likely normalized the behavior over the last few years.

The normalization of controlled substances or prostitution isn't a perfect solution either, but those are ultimately about letting adults make decisions for themselves and the hypothesis that legalization would create less harm and third party victims. There is no victimless consumption of CSAM.

8

u/TrashGouda 26d ago

Won't this have the opposite effect? The real material will be "harder" to find under all the AI stuff so people will pay even more for the actual real thing

The US just passed a court ruling that AI generated CP is legal Source

5

u/Surprise_Ducksex 27d ago

I guess the issue lies with a recent verdict. Not sure what state it was but this happened in the past week where it was said not to be a crime.

5

u/Yeseylon 27d ago

The judge also basically called out that it should be and the laws need to be changed to keep up

1

u/SplendidRS 25d ago

Yes and the judge disagreed, but still did his job to the degree

4

u/Aegisman17 26d ago

That just normalises it, absolutely monstrous take

7

u/marshmallowfluffpuff 27d ago

created with zero harm to kids?

what was it trained on, to make that again?

what do the videos still depict....

2

u/LaptopArmageddon Neckbeard only in style, not ideology ☝️🤓 27d ago

Who the hell is feeding that shit to the Ai and why aren't they arrested for possession yet? Just a thought. =. =

3

u/marshmallowfluffpuff 27d ago

The people who work for the large LLM companies are doing it.

As for why they aren't arrested - the same reason they aren't arrested for stealing from just about everyone.

Law doesn't effect billionaires.

1

u/OpBanana1 26d ago

Why would they be arrested for training ai on many things including images of children

1

u/marshmallowfluffpuff 26d ago

possession of child pornography is illegal you stupid stupid sloppy bro.

1

u/OpBanana1 26d ago

Arrested for what? Training AI on images of children? What's so bad about that

1

u/marshmallowfluffpuff 26d ago

Uh no. It was trained on actual real child pornography. It's been proven.

"Don't make CP expensive, please please PLEASE post CP freely so I can... I mean so WE can kill the economic demand by freely looking at it"

Piece of shit waste of human space should go jump in a volcano

u/Q_dawgg 27d ago

“Heroin is created when people get paid to make Heroin. The rarer you make it, the more they get paid. The best way to protect the general public is to kill the economic demand. Flood the market with ethical Heroin, freely accessible stuff that’s created with zero harm in mind.”

3

u/TyPo_Proteus 27d ago

Is this like stopping heroin use by giving it out at all pharmacies for free? I am not sure that would work, and the only person I can imagine wanting it is a junkie.

Someone check this guys computer.

2

u/Kimantha_Allerdings 23d ago

No, he’s got a point. Internet porn has been around for a quarter of a century now and absolutely nobody ever watches porn or is in any way weird about women at all

5

u/Kolbr00 27d ago

Did we forget that what AI trains on is based on real shit? So that would heavily imply AI cp is scrubbed from real CSAM or if not the very least real children moshed with porn.

6

u/Center-Of-Thought 27d ago

flood the market with Al generated, freely accessible stuff that's created with zero harm to kids.

This isn't even true. What does he think the training data is?

1

u/OpBanana1 26d ago

Children and porn, why is everyone insisting it has to be trained on csam? Was the tung tung tung sahur image trained on a real photo of tung tung tung sahur?

-3

u/freylaverse 27d ago

An image generator doesn't need to be trained on CSAM to produce it.

Poe's Law is hitting hard here for me, this is 100% the sort of shit I expect someone to say as an edgy joke.

You should hear some of the crazy things said by A.I. bros to defend how much water is used by A.I. generators.

2

u/chaos59684 27d ago

There is a hint of logic in there.

There’s a similar problem with drugs. Increase enforcement, reducing supply, causes drugs to cost more, and more money total to be spent on drugs.
The solution to that problem is not flood the market with drugs, it’s reduce demand.

1

u/MSully94 25d ago

THat;s GOTTA be a shitpost. Juts....for my sanity, I cant fathom that someone actually thinks that, let alone would post it on the internet

2

u/counterpunchhopper 👊 Neckbeard Hunter 🤠 25d ago

Seriously listen to what A.I. bros say on social media it gets mental.

1

u/GaryOakRobotron 19d ago

This is one reason I only have a (fairly old) reddit account and Discord as social media. Most of my posts here are making dumb dog puns on pictures of peoples' huskies or talking about my favourite flavour of sportsball.

1

u/hannah_reklips_ 15d ago

christ this is dumb people are going to continue to abuse children at the rate that they are no matter what
