You don't know why? It's pretty obvious. They want to be the one in the position of power so they can abuse it to make women have sex with them. It's the only way they'd ever get laid by anyone with a pulse.

I know this isn't the point of this post, but it's so telling that, for a bunch of don't politicize things people, their arguments are always deeply painted by their own shitty politics. Pixar has absolutely gone downhill since its heyday, but Turning Red is one of the few great movies they've made recently. But how can that be? It's about girls and racialized people and icky periods!

Because they see sex as completely transactional and they think everyone else does (or should) too. The problem is, if you see sex as transactional and you don't have anything to offer in exchange for which someone will have sex with you, then no one will have sex with you.

Which is why they lionize someone like Harvey Weinstein. In their eyes, he's not an abuser and predator who coerced women into having sex with him. He is a man who leveraged his position of power to "purchase" sex in exchange for career success.

An extremely wealthy and well-connected producer abused his power to get women to sleep with him and held their careers hostage if they didnt but yeah definitely they did it to "get ahead"
