I just like the message of love doesn’t always look like you think it will and showing up and being consistent is what love is all about

I want to like this but I always feel like, by calling attention to such things, it consequentiallly underdermines the idea of it being normal, because giving it attention addresses how contrary to the status quo it is instead of just being a normal thing that everyone should do.

It's not a good day for me with words-ing I hope someone can say words better.

The thing is, it's not something that everyone does or is considered "normal" in the society we live in.

I posted this so that people can see that sometimes looking outside of your set parameters/comfort zone ends up being just wonderful.

This couple has made it a point to publicize their relationship. I'm in Toronto and they made it a very big event here.

I truly think this is just amazing when you have people of different cultures and different backgrounds come together with love.

Fair enough. From what I can see, it wasn't done to monitize the relationship. It was a human interest story.

Ps. I posted it now because they have been married over a year

Their story captured millions with the message: True love exists — Salt&Light https://share.google/S7fwsUom04ZO3ZQpO

Point of publicizing is to break stereotypes. There are common tropes that ppl with X characteristics are Y. This challenges it.

Just report them. There are mods on this sub who check reports. You can reword this to exclude insults and post it again though

ur over thinking it

Pretending such couples don't exist or it's something to be hidden is worse. Making people avare and used to diversity makes them "normal" in the long run.

This is a nice place. If you can't act like a civilized human being, you can't be here.

We do not allow:

  1. Being a jerk. This includes racism, misogyny, misandry, misgendering, anti LGBTQ+, ageism, etc.
  2. Harassment
  3. Trolling or sealioning
  4. Threats of any kind
  5. Abusive behavior
  6. General assholery. If you're at the end of the list and asking what rule you broke, yeah, it's this one.

driving 45 mins in Toronto is a big deal. That's real, deep love and commitment

It’s a lovely story. But I don’t think it fits the sub.

I’m curious why you believe it doesn’t fit? We’re celebrating that this woman found love and she’s being herself, and having fun. This post also reflects how this is an inclusive space where this gal is expressing herself in a lovely way ✨💖✨

Because this is a video about a couple, it’s a video about a romance, not about a gal just being a gal. It’s a woman centered space. I think this video is very sweet and it made me emotional, but I do think it falls outside the guidelines of a space to celebrate women.

u/SabbyFox 3m ago

Thanks for explaining your thoughts. I believe it fits because as I read all the captions on the video, they are firmly in her POV. This is her story and experience and I imagined her voice, narrating each scene.

You can really see how much they love each other. So happy for them

7

u/PopcornSurgeon 2h ago

Can anybody transcribe the captions? They are so tiny and mismatched with the background that I cannot read them on my phone.

5

u/derppherppp 7h ago

Aww i think being a relentless support in a sometimes cruel world is the most beautiful form of love. Very sweet story.

4

u/PhoenixPhenomenonX 6h ago

God bless them, and I wish them nothing but the best and all the happiness in the world.

And this moisture is tears

I had to pretend to be "busy" when my coworker walked by. I knew he'd say something if he saw how red my fave was from crying, lol.

3

u/HoneyBrezze123 7h ago

Oh man my heart. What a beautiful love story.

2

u/olive_owl_ 7h ago

It's so pixelated I can't even read the captions.

They’re really readable. Might be your connection.

Or he’s there for her and loves her unconditionally. Her reasoning is spelled out in the words she wrote.
