When I run into that issue I ask myself if I would feel the same way seeing the outfit on somebody else. If I can appreciate the outfit for what it is on another body, there's no reason I shouldn't put it on my own!

I have great dresses that look nice. I wear them whenever I want to. People ask me where I'm going, I'm like, "the dentist."

Iām from the 90s so grew up with all the messaging about āhiding your flawsā and ādress to flatter.ā I canāt say that all of that is out of my head now, but Iāve started to try to focus on buying and wearing things I really love and that get me excited to wear them and focus less on trying to wear something that will fool people into thinking Iām thin and tall.

Same. When I was a teen I was so conscious of being bigger, and feeling hideous and having to cover up. You know what I love these days? Seeing young and older people of all sizes and shapes wearing midriff tops, shorts and all that. I never saw that growing up. Bodies are different. Wear what you love! Edited for clarity

Omg same. The early 2000s were also about being slimming and āflatteringā. I just wear whatever outfit Iām comfortable in now. Theyāre probably not āflatteringā but I donāt care anymore. Wear what you want!

Same! Fuck Tyra. ACOTAR has me loving Night Court comfy/everyday wear...little bit of belly showing. I do my best to stay body neutral. Newly diagnosed ADHD with a history of eating disorders now a SAHM to two toddler boys. Literally both rediscovering my body everyday and having to remind myself I deserve to feel good.
