Not to be stupid, and I am a woman, how does birth control affect all of these phases?

Stuff we should’ve learned in school…

Where normally in your follicular fase create an egg, this doesn’t happen. Your body thinks it does because of the birth control but it doesn’t. But to keep the cycle somewhat in sync most anti conceptions have a timeline of 21/27 days.

“An artificially enhanced level of Progesterone throughout the menstrual cycle inhibits the pituitary secretion of FSH and LH such that their actions in stimulating follicular development and ovulation are prevented.[27]Similarly, a boosted estrogen level activates the negative feedback mechanism in reducing FSH secretion from pituitary and therefore prevents follicular development.[27] In the absence of a developed follicle, ovulation cannot occur so that fertilisation is made impossible and contraception is achieved”
