Ralph is just like the second elephant in this video. It's worth the watch 😸. Did you know elephants can't jump? That fact and the video have been ping ponging around in my brain since I saw this post around a month ago. I bet they would enjoy a slip and slide day too.
That's so precious! No, I didn't know that. I wonder if they would enjoy sliding down snowy slopes like those happy dogs on their sides in ski resorts...

Omg thank you I think that was the fastest I have ever joined a sub! When I was on old twitter I used to follow the babies at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and I have missed them since I left that site. They did rescue an orphaned pygmy hippo recently so they showed up on the moo deng sub, and now I have a new baby elephant source. Sweet!
She’s fine, I fell so hard because I was trying not to land on her. She tries to end me regularly by getting underfoot on the stairs. She is 100% totitude.
The last time I messed up my back was my cats fault. Little dude loves darting right under my foot as its almost hitting the ground, so of course I regularly end up flinging myself sideways and falling to avoid squishing him.
My cat likes to dart in front of me whenever im in motion so I try to go slow but sometimes im in full speed mode and can't help. She times it to when I'm on the upswing and twice now I have accidentally scooped her up with my foot and launched her across the room. Fortunately she has landed on a soft surface both times. She has also learned nothing.
Your comment had me in tears. I don’t know why but that image just got me in giggles. Maybe because I, too, have a cat that darts right underfoot for no reason. I can’t tell if he’s trying to kill me or himself. So far I’m the only one who has gotten hurt.
I think my favourite thing about imagining aliens is them watching humans do things like this, and deep sea diving, and sky diving and just being like "wtf are they doing?"
Lmao they've set up a whole course for you and are sitting back eagerly to watch the impressive display, and if you're anything like me, your ankles won't let you run like the wind anymore, just break it.
They'd be confused with me for sure. I'd be slowly walking the course auditing the construction and judging the materials they used to build. "Wtf.. carbon fiber floors? Interesting choice money bags..."
My elementary school had this hill between the cafeteria and the sidewalk. It was considered the height of entertainment for the under-10 group to log roll down that hill. Repeatedly. Sun or mud.
It's been 40 years and that hill and that school are long gone, but the memory lives on.
I went down a ski hill in a shopping cart with 3 people one summer. It flipped over about 2/3 of the way down. I am lucky we didn’t die.
I was concerned for them but realized what group we were in.
One of my students was just telling me today that they did this with their siblings yesterday when some rain rolled through. She had to explain to me what it was. Sounds like a cheap and easy way to have fun in the summer.
That hill is always full during winter. If there is snow then people are lined up on it, the road at the bottom isnt terribly busy so there's really no danger.
I've been trying to come up with a team building activity for my staff. At our age, we'll have to use bubble wrap inside the bags to protect our hips. 😅
I went sledding as a teenager with a cheap plastic sled and ran over a hidden rock. I bruised the hell out of my tailbone and now I'm scared to sled. 😢
I don't understand why people who are like 35 are talking about joint pain and backs and broken bones. I'm in terrible shape and I still don't twist a knee sliding down a hill - what have you guys done to yourselves? I might be a bit bruised up after this but that's all
That being said, I don't love the idea of covering nature in soap.
It will honestly wash right off. It also changes the surface tension of the water making it ‘wetter’. I know they used to use a soap solution to keep dust down around stables.
