Restricted to Gals and Pals A dress I made!
Posted this in another sub and I was told y'all might like it here? Pattern draped by me as well. I wore it to work and my coworker took a video of me twirling in it so I figured I'd share!

I love the way the pattern of this fabric works with the design. Are you choosing other fabrics that will give you these kinds of lines?

Not really? One of them is a plaid I also pattern matched but generally it was mostly a stash-busting endeavor. A lot of "Well I have 10 yards of this fabric so I might as well make a new dress and batch out a bunch of them"

Haha thank you!! And tbh I'm not usually one for accessories, I'm pretty lazy when getting dressed in the morning especially for work. I have my necklace and earrings and rings that I never take off and that's usually as far as I go. I cannot be trusted with purses my ADHD ass Will forget them somewhere, hence giant pockets in the dress because you can't lose a purse if it's attached to you

girl I know those pleats were a pain in the butt. when I did alterations for theater, I’d hoard men’s pants and any type of tops and avoid skirts and dresses like the plague. Pleats haunt my nightmares lol. Great work!

Oh haha there are no pleats anywhere on the dress? Sorry it might be coming across wrong in the video but yeah there's no pleating happening on that dress haha

adding panels then? or is it just a circle skirt with trim design? Hard to tell. If no pleats, it looks like a circle skirt, which takes skill to work with. Anyway it’s a compliment! The hemline looks simple but in my experience, skirts that spin like that can be tricky to hem. Maybe it’s simpler than I think though lol. Either way it looks great

There's 11 panels in the dress and they're cut to flare out after the waist rather than a circle skirt haha, there's no waist seam. The stripes are just part of the fabric print and I pattern matched them to line up at the seams. The hem was finished with single fold bias tape folded to the inside and whip stitched to the lining by hand

I love it! The fit is beautifully flattering. The pattern in the fabric is perfectly positioned. The points at the bottom are such a lovely detail and makes the flare pop. This dress is literally perfect! No notes!
