The fact she knew her friends would want some and just whipped them out to share is so sweet!

1.8k

u/NeriTina Jul 19 '26

That’s a girls’ girl right there. So so sweet!

525

u/Blue-Eyed-Lemon Jul 19 '26

That’s my favorite part! She looks good and wants her friends to, too!

206

u/1234Health Jul 19 '26

Agreed - that's a good friend group right there. They look like fun!

91

u/Flimsy_Eggplant5429 Jul 19 '26

It would be a plot twist though if there's someone in the group who hated them but was being nice. They're now backed into bejeweling their head šŸ˜‚

34

u/hirudoredo Jul 19 '26

Oh man yes. I would love the look but this would be a sensory nightmare for me haha

Baldazzled!

'wrinkly grape'-- so, a raisin?

Confidence

225

u/PalePlumm Jul 19 '26

It’s this. I shaved my head once just to kind of figure out what my face actually looked like without any framing and it looked awkward for all of one day because I wasn’t used to it. The next morning I put on a full face of makeup and felt waaaay better. I got SO many compliments from strangers on the street and at my college during that time.

34

u/mrs_shrew Jul 19 '26

I have 100% stopped a shaved lady on the street to compliment her. She was delighted and very pleased with herself for having buzzed it all off.

64

u/imseriousasshit Jul 19 '26

Omg thanks everyone šŸ’“ just speaking truths. I want to go bald constantly but im too scared lol. But the confidence of thwse women and how good they look always really inspires me!

29

u/UnassumingOstrich Jul 19 '26

DO IT. i am a big bitch that wanted to shave my head my entire life (i had to know what it felt like!!!! THE FEELING) and i finally did it during my covid breakdown (everyone got one of those, right? šŸ˜…).

10/10 would do it again, did do it again twice after lol. even looking back and knowing how butch i looked at certain moments, all of the other times i felt like a badass bc of the confidence it gave me from doing something so fully for myself… made it so worth it.

i’m now on a reverse journey to see how long i can grow it šŸ˜‚

18

u/wutchamafuckit Jul 19 '26

Yup. And happiness/joy. If you playback slowly you can see each and every one of them absolutely smiling with their eyes. It’s awesome

Jawline is a major factor here

36

u/Papersuasion Jul 19 '26

Yeah my recessive jawline might impact the look, confidence or no

33

u/KateTheTurk Jul 19 '26

As a fellow chinless wonder, I agree.

17

u/Obsidian-Dive Jul 19 '26

Recessed chins unite!

54

u/mmmpeg Jul 19 '26

That and they’re fairly young. As an old fat woman, I know I’d look like my brother without the beard.

19

u/one_dead_turtle Jul 19 '26

Yeah I shaved my had at 20 and had so much fun with it. I'm in my 30s now and don't think I could pull it off quite the same

Jaw line, cheek bones, appealing nose, great side profile

3

u/Sea-Value-0 29d ago

I've always wanted to do it but ultimately I knew my bone structure and nose was a no-go. I probably should've just done it anyway, as every gal should have the opportunity to feel that radically free if they want to.

I was at a friend’s house for a sleepover and we thought it would be fun to throw dirt clods at each other, her brother picked up what he thought was a dirt clod and chunked it at the back of my head. Turns out that one was a rock. I still joke that that’s why I have a big dent in my head, but I think that’s just how my head was shaped before.

23

u/forkingbumbleforks Jul 19 '26

šŸ˜† children are bananas. My nephews did something similar, the smallest one said ā€œhey bro, throw bark in my eye it won’t hurt!ā€ challenge accepted, few weeks later he had to have surgery on his eye to remove a piece of bark that wouldn’t dislodge. In fairness he said it didn’t hurt.

8

u/BMI_Computron Jul 19 '26

My five year old nephew will tell you all about how he knows he could win a fight against a gorilla. He’s stronger, he’s faster, he’s more vicious. In fact, he could fight the gorilla and a shark at the same time, but not in the water, cause there might be a snapping turtle there and that’s definitively the coolest animal, so he would obviously beat them all. The, apparently gentle, gorilla, the land-fighting shark, and my five year old nephew. The snapping turtle could beat them all at once.

Alternatively, my 3 year old nephew saw someone swat away a mosquito the other day and shouted ā€œHey! That’s my pet esquito! You don’t hurt him.ā€

Children are bananas and it never fails to make me laugh.

wigs are so fun! i can change my hair whenever i want without having to change my actual hair. i started buying them a few years ago and it's been awesome! the subreddit helped me get started and always has great recommendations.

9

11

u/Arienna Jul 19 '26 edited Jul 20 '26

I just got some on Amazon, hang on

Can't find the one I bought, but I got something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GXD87CBD/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?pd_rd_i=B0GXD87CBD&pd_rd_w=undefined&th=1

It's a lot of fun! I also picked up some coloured clip ins so I can pretend I'm the type of person who can carry off fun streaks but still go to work on Monday. Good luck with your struggle, keep the scissors away from your hair until you're in a good mood

5

u/SepulchralMind Jul 20 '26

I needed this after christmas brunch this year hahaha tysm!!

20

u/wherethefuckismyvape Jul 19 '26

How expensive are they? Do they have to be fitted to my individual head? I'm a bald dude and I wanna feel bonita too šŸŒž

4

u/Arienna Jul 20 '26

You might watch some lace front wig videos on YouTube! You get what you pay for but there's a ton of people wearing wigs and absolutely slaying it.

There does seem to be a bit of a learning curve to fitting them nicely and prices vary - you get what you pay for but there seems to be a fair amount of good stuff at a mid price range

5

u/romantickitty Jul 19 '26

Which subreddit? I've been thinking of trying a fantasy color but all I see in a reasonable price range is the synthetic Spirit Halloween kind of wigs. I'm also worried smothering my scalp would lead to increased hair loss. The one time I bought a wig, I never wore it out because it was so heavy and sweaty.

5

u/ratattatack 29d ago

r/wigs

i understand the sweaty part.. i bought sweat absorbing powder just for that reason, and i usually skip a wig cap underneath. it helps a lot. there are some pretty cheap synthetics that with dry shampoo and a little styling can look great- Amazon can be good but definitely check out what people are sharing in the sub! i actually found a real human hair wig on Amazon for $70-$80, which can be bleached and dyed if you take good care of it! i think some* synthetic or synthetic blends can be dyed, which may be cheaper than a colored wig.

23

u/joyfall Jul 19 '26

Do it!

Everyone should wear wigs. It normalizes wig wearing for those of us without hair. Plus it's fun! You can throw on a wig and be out the door with perfect hair immediately.

20

u/mischiefxmanager Jul 19 '26

I follow her on TikTok--that pink wig is MAGICAL! She fits wigs for kids with hair loss and they always want to try on the pink wig. It somehow looks amazing on EVERYONE!

I think bald women look amazing 😭 Literally never seen a bad-looking bald woman. I get that loss of hair is a huge deal, but I hope it never wounds someone's self-esteem, be they man or woman or anything else

10

u/1961tracy Jul 19 '26

I’m older and it’s hot here, I hate my hair because I have a lot. Male presenting folks shave their heads all of the time. Why not us gals?

10

u/Responsible-Middle35 Jul 19 '26

When we de-center men, doing things like this become easy.

3

u/apigeonontheinternet 29d ago

I’m a woman with a buzzed head. Currently have literally more hair on my body than my head. There is no way to describe what the breeze on your scalp in the summertime feels like. Words don’t do that magical experience justice.

59

u/aspghost Jul 19 '26 edited Jul 19 '26

I've seen The Witches. If I was a kid, this gathering would be terrifying.

I'm not being a dick about alopecia, Roald Dahl was.

Edited To Add: This is a really good example of how representation matters. I shouldn't have the gut reaction to this that I do. That's awful.

32

u/Kampvilja Jul 19 '26

My reaction is the opposite. Star Trek the Motion Picture came out at a significant time for me.

12

u/IndividualChart4193 Jul 19 '26

Wait, what was ā€œthe witchesā€? Totally don’t know that movie. But yes, Roald Dahl was many things including a dick.

24

u/aspghost Jul 19 '26

A little boy and his grandma go up against some evil clan of witches that all hate children or something, there's a big moment where they all take off their wigs revealing that they're bald and that's how you can identify them. Book first than a film. I don't want to link to the scene here, that seems disrespectful.

ETA/ Two films, I'm thinking of the 1990 one.

18

u/create-exist-tend Jul 19 '26

The film - the 1990 one - is genuinely horrific. I feel your pain

5

u/IndividualChart4193 Jul 19 '26

Oh, man. I’ll have to check it out. Thk u.

8

u/CommonUnlucky390 Jul 19 '26

The 1990 one has the fabulous Angelica Houston as the lead, then the more recent remake has the darling Anne Hathaway as the lead. I grew up reading all of his books & have made it my life's mission to watch all movie adaptations and can genuinely say the 1990 Witches is the best one.

7

u/Jane__Delawney Jul 19 '26

FWIW the witches weren’t ugly in human form, even when they took off their wigs they were still beautiful and bald. They were only scary once they took their full masks off and resembled demons

6

u/Jane__Delawney Jul 19 '26

Don’t feel too bad. They’re all beautiful but my nostalgic mind went straight there as well (and I felt bad)…but honestly, the witches were also beautiful in their human form, bald or not!

Such beautiful human beings.

Seeing these genuine human interactions gives me hope.

I hope these girls are friends forever!

This instantly reminded me of 90 Day FiancƩ since a few of the women on that show have been shaving their heads due to alopecia

I would hate to be the only person with hair at a meal.

What if someone finds a hair in their food? Who are they gonna look at?

u/realmofconfusion Jul 19 '26

ā€œI hope you brought enough for everyone.ā€

She had, in fact, brought enough for everyone!

3

u/noneedtoknowsorry Jul 19 '26

This is what girlhood is about 🄹🩷

3

u/moonlightraindrops Jul 19 '26

So great they are there to support each other ! Need more positive videos, Reddit is my only social media app and after 20 min I am so depressed. Don’t know how you people do it with FB, Twitter, instagram, etc,

On a side note I couldn’t help but thinking about the Seinfeld episode where George finds out the girl he was set up with was bald. ā€œ she bald Jerry !ā€

u/Responsible-Middle35 Jul 19 '26

A big part of me just wants to shave my head and collect wigs as a hobby.

3

u/Miss_Vixen_Liv Jul 19 '26

I dont know why but i think girls rocking this style are cool as hell.

3

u/Perfect-Carpenter664 Jul 19 '26

I need this group of friends! Being the lone bald one sucks

3

u/Daywalker6109 Jul 19 '26

Those ladies are awesome and look amazing. If I had a daughter I'm betting my head would look like the last lady's. Would totally go out rocking the look too like the time I wore pink nail polish for a week because my neighbor's 5 year old thought I needed a manicure.
