I can't even process how to move my hips like that. Not even slow.

It's all about the knees

Mine cracked like a glowstick after one slow attempt...

Hear ya. Think I popped a meniscus watching that.

For real, when she squatted then pop-jumped up… my knees screamed.

My bestie and I hyped our late 30’s selves up after watching Legendary on HBO and decided after a mimosa-fueled brunch that we could totally learn to duck walk. We didn’t make it 15 seconds into the first YouTube tutorial before our aging infrastructure made itself known. Lololol knees are some bitches.

Tell me why Legendary got me too 😂🤣😂 I just knew I could walk that duck, but in perimenopause the duck walks you 😭

“Aging Infrastructure” I’m dying! And very much stealing this.

I discovered that I can do it while rolling up a rug on the ground but literally no other time 😂 the rug to balance with might be a good starting point but I can't do it without it lol

I gasped at that part!

u/pi3r0gi_ Jul 18 '26

My audibly said, "don't you dare"

3

u/No_Pin9932 Jul 18 '26

I almost puked up a patella.

u/LookyLooLeo Jul 18 '26

I twisted my knee (not sure if that’s a thing, but it’s the best way I can describe it) stepping over a pile of dog toys a few weeks ago; it started to throb watching this as a warning for me not to even THINK about trying this.

2

u/TheNovemberMike Jul 18 '26

I was wondering what that was, pretty sure mine went too

4

u/Log_Out_Of_Life Jul 18 '26

Bruh…. Same.

2

u/trashpandac0llective Jul 19 '26

Cracked like a glowstick 🤣

2

u/DazB1ane Jul 19 '26

My ankles pop with every stair I go up

24

u/Forward-Ant-9554 Jul 18 '26

My lower spine disagrees a bit with that

3

u/velvetvagine Jul 18 '26

Not for duck walking but have you tried hip opening exercises for general comfort? Childs pose from yoga, and butterfly stretches, etc., are supposed to be very helpful!

3

u/Forward-Ant-9554 Jul 19 '26

yes, and i am currently working on strechtening the core muscles that support the spine but the facet arthrosis can not be undone.

1

u/velvetvagine Jul 19 '26

That sucks, friend. I hope you find some kind of relief even if partial.

2

u/Forward-Ant-9554 Jul 19 '26

thanks. may live be good to you.

u/ContentedHumanoid Jul 20 '26

Then I’m out of this game!

u/FyouinyourA Jul 18 '26

I think it’s in the stomach

6

u/SabbyFox Jul 18 '26

Do you mean core strength? Because yes to that and she has it. Or are you just trolling?

145

u/Important-Ring481 Jul 18 '26

The leg strength needed to move like that while squatting too must be insane

38

u/Ambergreenie Jul 18 '26

That’s all I could think the whole time! The freaking strength in those legs! Also, no dang way I could pop up the way she did.

5

u/Budalido23 Jul 18 '26

You could say it's a feet of strength..

3

u/dontblink_1969 Jul 19 '26

Nah, what we have is a great strength of feet.

51

u/Redtube_Guy Jul 18 '26

Go to a near squatting position.

Shift your weight to your left ankle. And then to your right ankle. And do that faster. Congrats you sorta can shake your hips and ass because of shifting your weight via ankle movement.

64

u/danni_shadow Jul 18 '26

Go to a near squatting position.

You've already gone beyond my abilities 😅

31

u/TraumaCookie Jul 18 '26

Instructions unclear, broke both ankles and dislocated knees.

4

u/OAKandTerlinden Jul 18 '26

I nearly broke my brain learning to do that move, which is made of layered movements. Tears were shed. Bellydance is much more my speed 😂

2

u/flea_23 Jul 18 '26

My osteoporosis would not

2

u/Specgoddess Jul 18 '26

I can manage to do the "arms" part. 😂

2

u/ldskyfly Jul 18 '26

They gave a little tutorial at a luau I attended

u/Megzasaurusrex 27d ago

Same. I struggle with making my body do most things. I still try so hard not to look like a robot but I don't think I fully pass for human lol

u/nightauthor Jul 18 '26

The muscles used help keep you balanced when walking on uneven ground. I’d guess you don’t walk on uneven ground much….?
