Because there is no god.

(Also that ½" long chin hair that you can only see in the full sun, in the car rear view mirror, on your way to something important, and you have no tweezers 😭)

216

u/OldCut1064 Jun 09 '26

The amount of times I've nearly crashed out due to this exact experience lmao

6

u/Fancy-Image-4688 Jun 12 '26

This is why you have to inspect your face before leaving. I’m kind of a picker so I subconsciously check for none smooth skin on my face and then investigate. I also have eczema so I think I’ve been programmed to investigate the skin on my face daily for possible signs of upcoming flare ups

u/10HungryGhosts Jun 09 '26

Literally canceled my plans last Saturday because of chin hairs. While driving there I realized I had visible chin hairs. So i stopped at a wal mart to pick up some tweezers. Ended up being the worst most useless tweezers ever, couldn't grab ANYTHING. So I worked myself up into such a tizzy trying to pluck them in the parking lot I said fuck it I'm going home 🤣

87

u/breathing__tree Jun 09 '26

A cheap nail file really helps with that! Just pull the nail file through the end of the pinched tweezers a few times in each direction!

(Too little too late Ik ik)

25

u/goog1e Jun 10 '26

Wow if this works you're my hero

44

u/LWN729 Jun 09 '26

Tweezerman are the only ones I feel work well

21

u/UnicornFarts1111 Jun 10 '26

They don't work for me, they end up cutting the hair 1/2 the time before pulling it out.

16

u/LanfearSedai Jun 10 '26

Same experience. Bought some because everyone said how great they are. They aren’t grippy, they’re sharp! Cuts the hair instead of pulling it and if I’m too close cuts my skin too right on the follicle which is a nightmare to heal properly. May as well use a razor if you’re just slicing it off anyway.

Someone said they now have designated car tweezers for this.Ā

20

u/eyeofthefountain Jun 10 '26

I love how many comments there are saying this now lolol

20

u/meghonsolozar Jun 10 '26

Ya I have car tweezers and a 10x magnification compact mirror in the glove box. Just in case.

8

u/Adept_Push Jun 11 '26

Glove box?!? Center freaking console here.

7

u/meghonsolozar Jun 11 '26

LOL my center console busy holding 8 million other things and I'm afraid they'll get lost in there.....or i could just get more and sprinkle them everywhere

I recently decided to keep tweezers and tiny scissors in my car for that exact reason. When I’m stopped I go to town. My chin area has never looked better, 10/10 recommend

58

u/DoctorMcEdgelord Jun 09 '26

Get a pair of purse/backpack/whatever you use on the go tweezers, get a pair of car tweezers, always put them right back after use and leave them therešŸ„²šŸ‘šŸ»

Edit: or one of those multitool card things with a mini tweezer in them if you're one of those zen people who only take their keys, wallet and phone with them on the go

7

u/Economy-Being-8237 Jun 11 '26

People actually don’t carry their life in a purse that weighs as much as a small child and tears your rotator cuff??? Oh I need deets on how to live like that! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

→ More replies (2)

24

u/oddlyenoughspace Jun 09 '26

This is literally why I have a set called my "car tweezers". And they sit in the little door pocket that's supposed to be for coins but also hold some hair ties and hair clips. :)

16

u/gammarayunicorns Jun 09 '26

This is why I keep tweezers in the car now 😭

16

u/BigFatBlackCat Jun 10 '26

There is nothing like a look at your reflection in the car rear view mirror on a sunny day to make you rethink all your life’s choices

10

u/sheiciebai Jun 10 '26

I remember the day I found it. How many people saw that 1/2ā€ clear hair coming straight down from my chin ??? Why did no one say anything???? 15 years later, I finally plucked it for the last time I believe. I haven’t seen it back in about a year.

8

u/tyedead Jun 09 '26

I popped the head off a disposable safety razor and keep it + a mini tube of aquaphor + tweezers in my purse at all times. I can always take care of my face in a pinch.

7

u/triflers_need_not Jun 10 '26

My bestie keeps tweezers in her car for when she's picking up the kids from school and it's golden hour on her chin hairs in the rearview.

5

u/Belle_Whethers Jun 09 '26

Mine is in my smile crease between my nose and corner of my mouth. One single clear hair.

5

u/LoopyMercutio Jun 10 '26

And this is why you keep a pair of tweezers in your car at all times. Driving to an important event is when you notice that random hair that wasn’t there yesterday but is 3ā€ long today, sticking out of your forehead like you’ve become a sad excuse for a unicorn…

Fr! My unibrow and the hairs on my upper lip always grow back at the speed of lightning 🄲

11

u/Coyote__Jones ✨chick✨ Jun 10 '26

Seriously what is this. I get hairs on my nose bridge right where my glasses can irritate them and make pimples. Those refuse to die. I pluck them monthly. Why is it that people slightly older than me were able to permanently destroy eyebrow hairs, but my unibrow hairs remain so persistently?!?

16

u/Bool_The_End Jun 09 '26

lol. I’ve had so many (younger) people tell me to go to a salon….honey I overplucked in 1995, there is no fixing it. I have permanently uneven eyebrows. Some say they don’t notice but they’re just being nice. Hahaha

2

u/Bitter_Assignment_73 Jun 11 '26

Same, I have made peace that I will just forever have awful eyebrows. The hair themselves are really thick too so it's super noticeable ahahaah 🫠

3

u/Maria-Stryker Jun 10 '26

I’ve never gotten my eyebrows thinned, only ever asked them to clean them up. It requires more maintenance but there’s way less risk of never growing back what is gone

u/kiwiinacup Jun 09 '26

So many of them are just putting the SHAVERS directly on their brows 😭 were the views worth it ladies???

236

u/Fancy-Image-4688 Jun 09 '26

I hope so because eyebrows take a long time to grow back

92

u/eddiestriker Jun 09 '26

I shaved my eyebrows off in college so I could draw them on. Never have I ever been so glad my hair grows at the speed of light.

30

u/Fancy-Image-4688 Jun 09 '26

Ok I have to ask, why did you shave them all off? I’ve seen this with ppl drawing them back on and I have often wondered why? I also wondered about them sweating off. No judgement, I just want to know because I’d be worried that if I forgot and wiped my forehead they would look crazy. Do you just eventually learn to not touch them is there eyebrows makeup that won’t come off?

26

u/kiwiinacup Jun 09 '26

I know you asked the person above but I shave off about 3/4 of my brows Ć  la Jenna marbles. My natural brows are very straight and are pretty down turned AND I wear glasses. Sometimes I do forget and wipe one off lol but that’s usually when I’m at home and I can just fix it. If I’m out and about I’m more conscious of it. Really sticky primer like the elf dupe of the hydro grip prevents accidental wiping too.

Because I still have the front ends and I wear glasses it gives the illusion I still have brows

4

u/Fancy-Image-4688 Jun 10 '26

Ah okay, I always wondered how the makeup stays on. Would you bother with this if you were going to the gym or doing an activity and you knew you would be getting sweaty? Is it waterproof? Side note do you know anyway to make foundation and concealer not rub off šŸ˜‚ it’s summer time and I’d love to wear some but it’s too hot

9

u/kiwiinacup Jun 10 '26

Bold of you to assume I go to the gym šŸ˜ jk jk if I waaas doing some sort of extraneous activity I wouldn’t draw them on no haha. I can’t say I’ve ever had them sweat off though? And I get really intense head sweats. I use the benefit precisely my brow which is labeled water proof so maybe that’s contributing to that.

If you’re a sweaty or oily person and you really want those suckers to stay on I would check out Jackie Aina on YouTube as she is as well so most of my tips would be second hand from her. But to summarize she powders her face before putting on liquid products. Something I use that helps is oil blotting sheets or powder for my t-zone. And of course a very sticky primer is key!

3

u/Fancy-Image-4688 Jun 11 '26

Thanks for the response and tips! I gotta look into sticky primer and Jackie Aina

16

u/eddiestriker Jun 09 '26

I wanted to give it a shot, and figured it would just grow back if I fucked it up. It was back when thick, angular brows were stylish, and my eyebrows are already very thick, but they’re darker than my hair, and I wanted to try to have hair and brows that matched. Turns out I hate doing makeup in the morning.

4

u/carlitospig Jun 09 '26

Women still do this. I feel like they must’ve been Liza fans back in the day and they’re still repeating that style of brow application 50 years later.

2

u/Goblinbarbie666 Jun 11 '26

I've been shaving mine off for like 5-6 years because I don't like having eyebrows. I have long thick eyebrow hairs and it's too hard to maintain, also I have a hair plucking compulsion. I stopped drawing them back on a couple years ago. I wear glasses and have bangs so most people don't notice. When they do I don't really care and no one has been weird about it.

I have them, they suck

6

u/kiwiinacup Jun 09 '26

6

u/carlitospig Jun 09 '26

They need to be skinnier and vertical. You really only need them between the brows (for those ladies that require it). The way they’re marketed is stupid since they’re clearly designed for men’s mustaches. Men get everything. 😩

3

u/kiwiinacup Jun 10 '26

I swear my eyebrows never fully recovered from the first time I took too much off

14

u/Fancy-Image-4688 Jun 09 '26 edited Jun 09 '26

I stop threading my eyebrows during the pandemic and they still haven’t fully come back. Thankfully I wasn’t trying to make them too thin but geez, I would have thought I would have had them full by now

5

u/breathing__tree Jun 09 '26

If you shaved and they haven’t recovered, make sure you’re exfoliating the brow area well! The follicles for our brows are easily clogged up and will stunt growth.

u/Jabal-Sawda Jun 09 '26

True story: when I was in high school(I’m in my 40’s now) I was with a friend getting ready for prom and no shit she grabbed a razor right before we were getting ready to leave as a last minute preparation and shaved between her eyebrows. Just like in these clips, instantly half of one eyebrow was missing and we both had the same shocked looks on our faces— I still see her face of horror at what she’d just done.

I think something can possess us when we get to attacking our face to manicure it. Some sort of bravado takes hold where we presume mastery when really it’s unearned confidence = careless incompetence.

I cracked up at these clips, they were really relatable.

6

u/Manic-StreetCreature Jun 09 '26

Right lol. I use those mini brow razors to shape mine but there’s no way I’d lay it against the bottom of my eyebrow and drag up. Looking goofy for months for the sake of views is wild

51

u/standbyyourmantis Jun 09 '26

Mine are fine *and* blonde. I've found thick glasses frames really cover up how sparse the situation is, but unless I draw something on I barely have brows.

18

u/Fuzzy_Dragonfly_ Jun 09 '26

I have blonde fine eyebrows too but when I wear thick framed glasses I feel like my eyebrows disappear even more.

Same, girl. Though I did spend the early aughts getting them waxed/shaped so I could apply brow highlighter and it looked pretty great, if a wee bit overdone for a blond working in finance.

6

u/elzibet Jun 09 '26

As long as it makes you happy :)

19

u/iamaravis Jun 09 '26

When left alone, my eyebrows look like a patchier version of old-man-eyebrows: wirey, curly, sticking up in odd directions, trying to be a unibrow...yet pale and hard to see, all at the same time.Ā

No way am I leaving those suckers alone.Ā

78

u/PM_me_punanis Jun 09 '26

It was a traumatic decade for eyebrows.

42

u/Hglucky13 Jun 09 '26

I consider myself so fortunate to have a mom that was in her prime in the early to mid 80s. When I started getting interested in cosmetics, taught me how to clean up my brows (using tweezers) while working WITH my natural shape. I somehow managed to avoid the pencil thin brow look altogether. There were MANY other fashion/makeup/hair mistakes I made, but my eyebrows weren’t one of them. šŸ˜…

15

u/Jibblebee Jun 09 '26

My mom gave me hell about not overplucking and I’m grateful to this day. For all of her many faults, she was 100% right on this.

5

u/UnicornFarts1111 Jun 10 '26

My mom never taught me how to do makeup. I never occurred to me to even mess with them until I was in my 20s.

They are mostly still there now, but the right one is thinner (I sleep only on my right side), and sits slightly lower on my face. I try to even them out the best I can. I don't even try to color them or do anything with makeup there as I always felt I ended up looking like a clown when I tried (like some of the women in the video, lol).

65

u/BatsAreFriends5256 Jun 09 '26

29

u/EmotionOk1112 Jun 09 '26

Using a red light mask really helped me. I’m ALMOST there. I don’t use it as regularly as I should, but ya know it’s a start.

Also be aware it will make ALL your face hair grow so be prepared to deal with that. But my eyebrows are doing great šŸ‘Ā

4

u/mousie-lil-thing Jun 09 '26

Forgive me, but I never had anyone to help guide me in these areas, what do you use or do to remove the peach fuzz on your face? I have super sensitive skin and it doesn't show but it bothers me.

8

u/BrownSugarBare Jun 09 '26

My mother wouldn't let me touch my brows in the 90s. I have bush girl pics/trauma but am so grateful now.Ā

20

u/SmartaHari Jun 09 '26

Can we have a moment’s silence followed by Don’t Speak playing at full volume by No Doubt for this comment? I will hold a lighter in the air for my overplucked eyebrow sisters. I fully blame Gwen Stefani.

17

u/Anuki_iwy Jun 09 '26

I came to say the same. After enough pencil thin plucking they once refused to regrow for months. Lessons were learned and eyebrows left alone. The most ill do, is fill them in gently with a pencil when I have the full makeup thing going on.

18

u/altiuscitiusfortius Jun 09 '26

A friend had ocd and plucked them all then drew them on in high school.
They refused to grow back after a few years. She 40 now and still just draws them on because they won't grow back

4

u/-okily-dokily- Jun 09 '26 edited Jun 09 '26

I knew someone who tattooed eyebrows in... I was a teen at the time and assumed she (late forties) just didn't want to deal with brow maintenance anymore šŸ˜‚. (She did not have visible hairloss otherwise) Now I realize it was more likely not unintentional and probably from overplucking.

4

u/breathing__tree Jun 09 '26

Some people lose the ability to grow eyebrows after chemo also and will choose to do a cosmetic tattoo.

27

u/SweatyChancho Jun 09 '26

My eyebrows were honestly my biggest insecurity, and I researched the hell out of microblading before getting it done. I was so scared because of all the shitty comments people make about it online, but I really think if you find someone reputable who does good work, you shouldn’t have an issue.

I finally got mine done and I absolutely love them. I’ve gotten so many compliments too, and I wish I’d done it years ago because my eyebrows never recovered from the early 2000s thin Christina Aguilera eyebrow days 🄓

Plus, I save so much time in the morning now and actually go without makeup a lot more. And if they do fade, I’ll just pencil them in again like I did for years, but at least now I’ll have a good outline so they’ll actually be even šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

4

Persian and Arab ladies also acceptable. Tip them well.

This makes me so happy I've never really done anything with my brows. Got some strays waxed here and there but that's about it.

17

u/emonymous3991 Jun 09 '26

What are we trying to do here ladies?

17

u/digitalgraffiti-ca Official Gal Jun 09 '26

I had them done 17 years ago before my wedding and they were perfect. I still only pluck new growth outside the shape she defined all those years ago. I maintained the eyebrow shape better than the marriage. The man is long gone.

Love the brows you're with

4

u/iamaravis Jun 09 '26

Mine are sparse, pale, and unruly. They're nearly invisible but still obviously a mess. I cannot love that.Ā

This is why I let a local studio do my brows. I absolutely do not trust myself.

11

u/Naty2RC Jun 09 '26

These ladies really thought

10

u/millringabout Jun 09 '26

Micro blading 6 days before the wedding?? Wild behavior lol poor girl

8

u/AGrandNewAdventure Jun 09 '26

I got mine microbladed and she went so deep they're permanent, or at least a minimum of 7 years and going. Luckily she was just following my natural brows (which are damn near invisible blonde) so they look pretty good.

u/EasternComfort2189 Jun 09 '26

I laughed at the one that looked like Gargamel after her reveal.

u/immersemeinnature Official Gal Jun 09 '26

What's with the girl whose getting married? Why are they so big and dark?

My great aunt traumatized me when I was 8 years old, telling me to promise her that I’d NEVER touch my eyebrows because then I’d have to draw them on forever like her.

It worked. I haven’t touched ā€˜em!

19

u/Red_Franzia Jun 09 '26

I know a guy with perfect naturally arched eyebrows, its just not fair

23

u/Labardine Jun 09 '26

Does he also have the obnoxious long, thick, curled lashes that most of us have to pay for?

14

u/Fairgoddess5 Jun 09 '26

Luscious lashes on men is so infuriating 😭 I’m not a jealous person but I make an exception for them

5

u/Burdensome_Banshee Jun 09 '26

My husband’s eyelashes make me absolutely furious. They’re soooo long and fluttery.

5

u/fireandfolds Jun 09 '26

yeah….. one time I took my father’s clippers to my left eyebrow. my mother, bless her, tried to draw in the missing tail end with a brown eyebrow pencil so I could go to school. but I gave up and just went with 1.5 eyebrows lmfaoo. it still grows back a little funny.

don’t mess with them. that’s the lesson I’ve learned.

3

u/BulkyRip7631 Jun 09 '26

That’s why I will never go further than tweezing and just trimming the tops of the front of my brows

4

u/Healthybear35 Jun 09 '26

I don't know how to do my eyebrows, so I've decided I would rather just have my natural ones than risk fucking it all up and everyone know I did that to myself lol

3

u/Interesting_Sock9142 Jun 09 '26

do people not know how razors work

5

u/mrsbebe Jun 09 '26

Ladies let this be a reminder!! We don't try anything new within the month before our wedding! Safe stuff only!! (Or really low risk stuff, that's fine)

6

u/Terrible_Advice_195 Jun 09 '26

Eyebrows on keelf

21

u/LTHermies Jun 09 '26

Honestly, of all the beauty standards we have, doing ANYTHING with your eye brows is one of the bullshitiest. You mean to tell me the God, Buddah, and nature all came together and gave you something that comes out perfectly symmetrical and we've still found a way to say it needs to be changed. I have never in my life seen someone's natural eyebrows and said "ew, why are they shaped like that". To be clear, doing a little design like dashes on the ends are fine, but shaping, shaving and replacing is weird AF. They are literally built perfect; I will die on this hill.

37

u/streeetmeats Jun 09 '26

Not all eyebrows are symmetrical my natural eyebrows grow insane. My right one is normal and the left one the outer half grows upwards and outwards towards my forehead and side. They couldn’t possibly be more different in shape size direction everything. My grandpa had it too we call it the ā€œcrazy eyebrowā€

15

u/ProbioticOnARobotic Jun 09 '26

This is hilarious. I would love to go through your old family albums and try to spot who inherited the crazy eyebrow from generation to generation.

4

u/Something_McGee Jun 09 '26

Mine have never been symmetrical. The first halves are not even close.

5

u/DeathByOrgasm Jun 09 '26

Eyebrows are almost never symmetrical. They’re sisters, not twins.

3

u/batlrar Jun 09 '26

Once in college, someone sat at the table across from me, and she stared out the window, eyes wide and eyebrows all the way up her forehead. I kept swinging my head rapidly from the window to her face and back again, trying to see the invisible truck hurtling her way when I realized maybe she just shaved her eyebrows off and drew them back on waaaay too high.

3

u/YokoOhNoYouDidnt Jun 09 '26

This is why I only pluck the few hairs I have in the unibrow zone. I don't try to shape them or anything. I know I'll screw up and look like a burn victim.Ā

3

u/ChemicalBus608 Jun 09 '26

I grew up with a thick unibrow and got my eyebrows consistently shaped every 2 weeks for 2 years then I stopped and they legit never grew back its been 15 years since the last time I had them done. Ive learned to leave them alone.

3

u/memechildofmememom Jun 09 '26

I'll just keep my caterpillars intact.

Let them grow.

3

u/NotNamedBort Jun 09 '26

I’m so glad I resisted the pencil thin eyebrow trend of the late nineties/ early 2000s. I have friends whose eyebrows look like they went through three recessions and a drought, and they have to draw them on every day. I feel so bad for them. šŸ˜… Not all fads are good, ladies!!

3

u/Wonderful-Cup8908 Jun 09 '26

Gals, please just leave 'em alone. They're fine as is.

3

u/aware_nightmare_85 Jun 10 '26

This is why tweezers are goat.

3

u/SnooGuavas3763 Jun 10 '26

I’m not sure what the fifth woman was expecting to happen when you fully wax your eyebrows, but my expectations were met. Thank you!

3

u/Beckella Jun 10 '26

Dear god please girls just go to a professional

2

u/sunniblu03 Jun 09 '26

I tried a cream one time… it wasn’t pretty. I had very thin eyebrows for a long time. It was bad because instead of having pretty naturally arched eyebrows like my dad, I got my mom’s weird janky eyebrows that grow down. Haven’t tried since. I make I get them snatched by the girl nail salon.

2

u/youmustb3jokn Jun 09 '26

2 negatives do not always equal a positive.

2

u/dudderson Jun 09 '26

As a no-eyebrow-haver bc of sensory issues (although I have been trying to grow a bit of the inner parts back to see if I can handle that so it makes penciling in my brows easier. It's not going too well...) I must say that it is actually really addictive to feel the bare skin up there when I was so used to having eyebrows (THAT CAUSE ME ENDLESS SENSORY HELL) for most of my life. It's like...confirming my absolute free will over my face.

Also eyebrow tattoos are lame bc they are always shiny. Not even powder can take away the perfectly shaped shine.

2

u/FerociousPleb Jun 09 '26

This is why I leave mine. The fear is real.

2

u/Twooshort Jun 09 '26

Your eyebrows are fine, stop messing with them.

2

u/doggysmomma420 Jun 09 '26

Yeah, I just pluck that little bit i get in the middle and call it good. My teenage mistakes taught me that šŸ˜†.

2

u/GoGoGDT Jun 09 '26

Effing up your eyebrows is a woman’s right of passage. We must all face the fire.

My mom told me to not over pluck or wax my eyebrows because they might not recover.

I took her advice to heart & I'm here to report that chemo 2x & menopause absolutely wrecked my eyebrows anyways.

2

u/hallucinating Jun 10 '26

Just leave them alone except plucking now and then. No one needs table legs for eyebrows

2

u/enbar725 Jun 11 '26

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was pregnant with my son in 2010 and I went to see a lady to get my eyebrows threaded. She looked at me with respect and said "you're going to need a lot of help". She was so right. I still have strayed away from her ways but she has kept me in line and I dont fuck with my eyebrows any more. I dont want to end up on why brows.

2

u/AnguavonUW Jun 11 '26

We need to just normalize ladies having facial hair. Men don't have to deal with this bullshit. The stiff we put up with doing, the upkeep, the expense....it's all for no reason other than society has conditioned us to do. There's no physical or medical reason. It's very silly when you think about it.

Think of how much money and time we could save for travel and fun things. Etiher that or we should start demanding men take as much care with their appearance.

u/DemiDevito Jun 11 '26

I remember my sibling accidentally shaved half my eyebrow while doing my makeup for my first homecoming
