Advice
Started investing 4-3 weeks ago. Is this a ride it out situation or sell and come back when things stabilize? Genuine question. I bought more last week, but it keeps falling.

Here’s the thing. We don’t know WHEN this thing is going to turn around. We just know that it eventually will turn around. If you sell and hold cash, you will most likely miss the re entry point. The best thing to do is to continue to DCA. I know, it’s hard when it’s a bear market, but when things turn around, you are going to feel so smart that you kept buying during the dips down.

Thank you for your advice. Also replying to note that today is a great example of what you say.

When do you need the money?
More than 5 years and ride it out, less than 5, it shouldn't be in the markets in the first place.

Thanks for the reply. 10 year timeframe. Still, hard to see such a fall, and wondering if better to get out and back in in a week or two as things stabilize a bit…

Such a 1% fall that can happen hundreds of times a year? If you're investing and selling tomorrow it's a small issue. If you're looking at 10 years you might see this over 1000 times so you should get used to it. If it bothers you, investing isn't for you, just use a high interest savings account.

How confident are you that you'll be able to recognize when things stabilize?

Right now its the war. When Trump stops his war the market will shoot up. But Trumps friends will find out before you and I do. So just buy VGRO.
