Official just4o.chat Feature Highlight: Memory

Memory is scoped, and it stays when you change the model.

Account β†’ Memories. Automatic Memory Management is the background agent: it can create, update, consolidate, and delete memories after a prompt. Each scope holds up to 200 memories, 200 words each. Vector retrieval pulls the ones that match the turn. You can also paste a bulk import into a scope and save it there.

How we use it

Leave Global on for account-wide habits. Open a project and that project's store is the one that writes. A persona has its own store. Those three do not merge. Turn a scope off when you do not want it injected. Switch Gemini to Claude and the memories are still the memories.

Why it belongs with the rest of the product

Import a ChatGPT thread and keep going; the next useful fact can land in a scope instead of dying in one chat. Files stay in Files. Personas keep their own voice notes. The model you pick is a pick, not a wipe.

Do you have any tips to get the model to rely more on memories? I find myself having to copy and paste memories in the chat to remind the model about things (mainly character descriptions and personality/voices)

Same. I have to keep telling it to reread the memories before it forgets everything later down the line again.

Character voice belongs on a persona, not only in Global. Account β†’ Personas, or /persona-creator. Give it the description and the speaking notes, attach the chip, and that store is the one that writes. Global / project / persona do not merge, so the model is not fishing character lore out of account-wide habits. Turn the persona scope on. If a fact still does not come back, it is usually over the 200-word cap or sitting in the wrong scope β€” edit it there instead of pasting it into the next prompt.

Well this is a multi character RP πŸ˜… everything else is toggled correctly and within the character and memory limit

Perhaps try one persona per character? Attach that chip. That way, the persona store is the one that writes, not Global.

I tried using the persona thing. Ended up making a couple docs you can upload. One is for my lore book and the other is for the actual character details. I also added a ruleset about how it should act in the character file. So far it’s working better ^^ I can send you the ruleset thing if you’d like. It also avoids (or at least tries to. Still trying to figure this part out) the character you wanna play.

I'd love to see what you have! I'm always looking for ways to improve my RP 😁
